Chapter 104: Lu Jun
No danger to his life? Was that a joke?
Li Dong was quietly stunned.
After all, given Lu Jun’s unique temperament, he’d expected a cold glare and maybe a sneer, something like, Heh, you’re f**ing dead.
But right now, there was no sneer. No “heh.”
Just two baffling words: No danger.
How could there be none?
Li Dong looked at him in confusion. The man’s handsome, refined face was serious and focused.
“Why’re you looking at me like that?” Lu Jun felt he couldn’t stand that tempting gaze. “Just eat your food already,” he said impatiently.
Damn… he looked good.
“Did they pay you a lot?” Li Dong frowned slightly and set down his utensils, his expression darkening.
“What’s it to you?” Lu Jun turned his head away, refusing to answer.
“I can pay you too,” Li Dong said, eyes steady and determined.
“This isn’t about money.” Lu Jun rolled his eyes. “Our line of work has its rules.”
He could never take money to betray a client. And in this case, what Li Tingyi had promised him wasn’t just money.
“What did he offer you then?” Li Dong pressed quietly. “Whatever it is, I can match it.”
“You can match my a**,” Lu Jun muttered. What he wanted from Li Tingyi was his body, long-term. But now that he’d tasted something far better, his standards had shot up a dozen levels.
Suddenly, Li Tingyi felt like nothing, this man named Pei Ruozhen was the real top-tier prize.
Lu Jun gave him a quick side glance and added, “Even if you could afford it, I wouldn’t break the rules for you.”
That was absolutely out of the question. He could only promise not to kill him or let anyone else lay a hand on him.
(But isn’t that already breaking the rules…)
“Alright, I won’t force you.” Li Dong picked up his utensils again, hesitated, then set them down once more. He looked like he’d lost his appetite. “I’m full. Are you still eating?”
Lu Jun glanced at the plate. It was still half full. “Eat a little more. You’ll get hungry later,” he said, frowning.
“I don’t want any.”
“Fine then.” Lu Jun snorted. “I’ll take these out. You stay here and behave till I’m back.”
He cuffed Li Dong to the bedframe again, picked up the leftover breakfast, and left the cabin.
“Alright, I’ll wait for you,” Li Dong said softly, sitting there obediently.
“…” Lu Jun froze at the door and turned his head for one last glance.
All that went through his mind was: Cute. Want to sleep with him and I don’t want him upset.
That was already several thoughts too many.
His brain was a mess.
Annoying.
Out in the corridor, Lu Jun walked with his usual cold face, taking a bite of the croissant his prey had half-eaten.
It was embarrassing, but… he wanted to kiss him.
He quickened his pace, dumped the tray, and came back as fast as possible.
“You’re back?” Li Dong asked, turning slightly, those long, narrow eyes glancing his way.
“Mm…” Lu Jun thought, if anyone else said such useless words, he’d lose his temper immediately.
And he was losing it.
Hot face, racing heart, as if what he’d just eaten wasn’t the prey's leftover bread, but an aphrodisiac.
Li Dong nodded, saying nothing more. He didn’t even ask to have the handcuffs undone.
Silence settled over the room.
Lu Jun crossed his arms and paced in circles. He could hear his own breathing and his heartbeat.
Suddenly, as if making some decision, he strode straight toward Li Dong menacingly. His expression was a bit twisted.
Li Dong stared at him, alarmed, as the man crouched down and started unzipping his pants. “Uh… Xiao Jun…”
After realizing what he was about to do, Li Dong instantly turned into a flustered veteran driver.
F*ck! F*ck!
“Mm…” Lu Jun exhaled.
He wanted this. He wanted this so badly.
And he finally understood, the croissant hadn’t filled him up at all.
“Don’t do this…” Li Dong covered his face, about to cry. He’d just “paid his dues” last night!
And this early in the morning, even if he’d had two cups of milk, there was no way that could convert into… that.
Terrified. Who could understand his terror?
++++This is the cute little seahorse dividing line++++
When Lu Jun was finally satisfied, the poor man he’d pleasured was lying there motionless like a corpse.
“Pei Ruozhen?” Lu Jun sat beside him and nudged his leg. “You dead?”
“Not yet…” Li Dong turned his head and immediately regretted it, nearly blinded by the sight of what was on the shou’s mouth.
Oh heavens. He’d rather just pretend to be dead.
“Hmph…” Lu Jun wanted to lean over and touch him again, but his phone started vibrating. “Which bastard is it now?” ruining his mood.
Li Dong watched as he picked up the phone and went to the bathroom to take the call. His expression turned faintly serious.
“Hello?” Lu Jun said, hands on his hips.
“How’s it going?” Li Tingyi’s voice came through. He knew Lu Jun’s reputation, no failures, clean work, always fast.
“On the way,” Lu Jun said. “We’ll reach in about seven days.”
“Good.” Li Tingyi sounded relieved. He’d been cautious about this and only trusted Lu Jun to handle it. “Be careful. I’ll wait for you at XX Port.”
“Yeah.” Lu Jun paused. “Wait a sec.”
“What is it?” Li Tingyi asked.
“Why do you want the guy named Pei dead? You’re still planning to kill him after we land?” Lu Jun’s question went against every rule of the trade, but he was Lu Jun. Rules had never meant much to him.
“That’s not really a question you should be asking.” Li Tingyi sounded surprised. “What’s wrong, something happen?”
“No, just felt like talking.” Lu Jun laughed lazily, wiping something from the corner of his mouth with his finger.
“Hahaha.” Li Tingyi’s suspicion melted. He trusted Lu Jun’s nature completely. “Alright, I’ll chat with you when it’s safer, once you’re here.”
“Sure.” Lu Jun smirked.
After the call ended, he didn’t feel an ounce of regret.
“Xiao Jun, did you fall into the toilet?” Fifteen minutes later, Li Dong called toward the bathroom.
That one line Xiao Jun instantly sent the killer to heaven.
F*ck, f*ck. Too sweet.
But also really f***ing empty.
Leaning against the wall, Lu Jun sighed, his eyes dark. “Ahh…” I swear, I just wanna sleep with you again. F*ck!
“What’re you yelling for?” He cleaned up, came out lazily, and dropped down beside Li Dong.
“My wrists hurt. Can you unlock these?” Li Dong lifted his cuffed hands.
“…” Lu Jun glanced at the reddened skin. “Why didn’t you say so earlier?” he grumbled, fishing out the key to unlock him. He decided that from now on, he’d stop handcuffing him just because.
“Thanks. I’m gonna nap for a bit,” Li Dong said, turning his back.
“Aw, mad at me?” Lu Jun chuckled, but when he got no reply, he rubbed his nose awkwardly.
Outside, the winter sea air was crisp and cold. From the window, he could see floating chunks of ice, the chill cutting through even here.
Li Dong really fell asleep this time. When he woke up, there was a warm “heater” pressed against his back, Lu Jun.
The so-called killer who never slept deeply in front of others was now sound asleep beside him, completely unguarded.
His refined, beautiful face looked almost angelic when he slept.
But Li Dong knew perfectly well that Lu Jun wasn’t some kind-hearted soul.
As the protagonist shou, he was morally twisted, cold-hearted, and deeply unstable.
Li Dong didn’t dare let him know he’d woken. He stayed still, pretending to sleep.
“Pei Ruozhen,” Lu Jun murmured.
Li Dong’s heart gave a jolt. Had he been found out? But the next second, something soft brushed his lips.
He froze.
That wasn’t Lu Jun the cold-blooded killer. When he’d been with Li Tingyi in the original story, their relationship had been purely transactional, never tender.
Too shocked to react, Li Dong’s jaw parted involuntarily.
Lu Jun chuckled darkly, thinking he’d succeeded, and happily teased the flustered straight man under him.
“Hey…” Li Dong pretended to wake up, scowling. “What’re you doing?”
“Kissing you,” the cold-blooded killer said matter-of-factly.
So what if it disgusted him? So what if it was wrong? So what if he was straight? Hmph, f*ck it.
Lu Jun’s face showed not a shred of guilt.
“Waking someone up like that is very impolite,” Li Dong said.
But was that really the issue here?
“Are you sure your focus is in the right place?” Lu Jun twitched his mouth.
Wasn’t the guy supposed to be offended or grossed out or something?!
But no, he remembered the night before. Through the whole thing, the “silly straight man” had only looked shy. Never disgusted.
And what did that mean?
He swallowed hard, mouth dry.
“You’re right,” Li Dong murmured to himself. “But considering your profession, it’s pointless to talk about manners with you…” After all, the protagonist shou was a killer. In his dictionary, “politeness” didn’t exist.
“…” Lu Jun nearly lost it. What the hell did that mean? Was this straight idiot insulting his profession?
So what if he was a rich young master? So what if he had good manners, perfect posture, and a face that could make anyone weak in the knees? Did that give him the right to look down on him?!
Infuriating.
