Who Told You It Was Only Once?
Su Jingyang had been lying on the dry straw for a long time without managing to get up. Physical discomfort was part of the reason, yet the main cause was the overwhelming sorrow in his heart.
The tip of his nose was slightly red, and his dark, bright eyes were damp, carrying a pitiful look.
Not only had he done it with a man he didn’t even know, but there was also the possibility of pregnancy… Pregnancy! Getting pregnant meant having to give birth! Yet he was a man!
Everything he had believed for the past 23 years had been completely overturned.
With trembling hands, Su Jingyang lightly touched his lower abdomen, then quickly pulled back. Eyes reddened, he let out a long sigh. Could he really already be carrying one?
What was he supposed to do? If he really was pregnant, should he give birth to it? After giving birth, would the child call him Dad or Mom?
Ptui, ptui, ptui! Why was he thinking so far ahead?!
As Su Jingyang replayed everything that had happened within the past day, his mind felt utterly shattered. What exactly had he done wrong to run into such a f*cked-up system?
Why?!
A sigh filled with sympathy suddenly sounded. “I know you’re innocent. I’m sorry… you’ve suffered.”
Su Jingyang froze, his eyes moved slightly with uncertainty.
The voice sounded like the system, yet it did not feel the same. The system had never spoken to him in such a gentle tone.
“No need to doubt it. I am the system, though…” There seemed to be a bitter laugh. “I’m currently being suppressed by it, so I can’t come out often.”
“…”
None of that made sense. Suppressed by it? Unable to come out?
The system seemed to understand his confusion and sighed again, explaining helplessly.
Su Jingyang lay stiffly on the ground with his eyes wide open, listening in confusion as it rambled on for a long while. In the end, he finally understood.
Originally, this system had been designed to help women solve problems. It had been a good system. Over time, while handling family conflicts, emotional issues, mother-in-law disputes, and all kinds of scummy men, it unconsciously absorbed far too much resentment and negative energy. That influence eventually caused the system to completely crash once.
After it finished repairing itself, it discovered something was terribly wrong.
The system had split in two, like a person with a split personality.
The second system that emerged was filled with extreme resentment and hostility. Its methods became increasingly radical, and the original system had no way to stop it. As more negative energy accumulated, the second system suppressed the original one entirely and grew increasingly reckless.
“…So you’re the normal one, and the lunatic I met before was the split-off version?”
The system replied, “Yes. It has listened to too many women vent their suffering and deeply hates men who treat women poorly, so…”
So that was why he had suffered over that one sentence. Su Jingyang took a long, stifled breath. Why was his luck this terrible?
The system paused briefly before continuing. “Before you, it already ruined quite a few people. Your situation was relatively mild, so it showed mercy.”
Hearing that, Su Jingyang clutched his agonizing backside and nearly spat blood in indignation. This was what it called showing mercy???!!! He was practically ruined, okay?!
“Then… what happened to the ones it didn’t show mercy to?” Su Jingyang really wanted to know.
The system answered quietly, “Those it didn’t show mercy to… even I couldn’t save.”
Su Jingyang immediately caught the key point. His eyes lit up, and his voice turned excited. “Then for me, the one it showed mercy to, you have a way to save me???”
The system fell silent for a moment before replying with difficulty. “To be honest, I’ve been suppressed the entire time. I don’t have the ability to help you much nor can I send you back to your original world immediately.”
Su Jingyang’s mouth drooped in disappointment. The system continued, “So you can only rely on yourself.”
Su Jingyang perked up instantly. “Really? Really?! Then tell me quickly. What do I need to do? Tell me!”
Seeing his joy, the system threw cold water on him. “Don’t get happy too soon. What you need to do is extremely difficult.”
The corners of Su Jingyang’s mouth fell again. He rested an arm under his head, his voice sounding dejected. Of course it would be like this.
He still tried to comfort himself. “Even if it’s hard, that’s still better than having no hope.” He said to the system, “No matter what, tell me first.”
The system explained everything. After listening, Su Jingyang summarized it as one thing.
He needed to learn from Lei Feng and do good deeds. Earning everyone’s gratitude and praise was the same as collecting positive energy. The more grateful people were, the more energy he would collect.
Once the positive energy he collected was enough to offset the system’s negative energy, he would be able to go back.
The problem was that the second system’s negative energy had already maxed out. Even if Su Jingyang did good deeds for an entire lifetime, success was unlikely.
The system also added, “One more thing. You need to be careful about who and how you help. If you accidentally make things worse or annoy others, the positive energy you’ve accumulated won’t increase. It will decrease instead.”
“…Ha.” Su Jingyang let out a stiff laugh, tilting his head to look at the broken statue nearby. His face was full of lifeless despair.
Even if he somehow managed it in the end, the lunatic system #2 would probably have already forced him to give birth to seven or eight kids by then. Everything would be too late. The thought alone was terrifying.
Su Jingyang felt utterly desolate and did not want to speak. After hesitating for a long time, the system finally said, “There is actually a shortcut, though…”
This first system was far gentler, yet why did it speak in such suspenseful pauses?
Su Jingyang said, “Stop dragging it out. Just say it.”
“Then I’ll tell you.” The system said, “This is actually an mpreg novel world.”
“Mpreg novel? You mean this is a novel world?” Su Jingyang did not read novels often, though several female coworkers in his office loved them and occasionally discussed plots together.
No wonder this world had three sexes. It turned out to be a novel setting.
What kind of author would write something this insane? Su Jingyang cursed silently.
“Yes. We can’t create worlds on our own, so it randomly placed you here.” The system continued. “However, your arrival as an outsider has already caused changes to the plot and affected the protagonists. The shortcut I mentioned is to help push the main characters’ storyline forward so they achieve a perfect ending. It must be a complete and happy resolution. That will count as energy you collect and should offset about ninety percent.”
After a long while, Su Jingyang slowly pushed himself up while supporting his nearly broken waist. Lips pressed together, he lowered his eyes in thought. Ninety percent was tempting.
“Who are the protagonists? I’ll go find them now.” He finally felt a bit energized.
The system fell awkwardly silent for a moment. “Good question. Unfortunately, I only know the world’s attributes and basic background, not the specific plot.” After thinking for a moment, it added, “System #2 probably doesn’t know either.”
“…”
A lump lodged in Su Jingyang’s throat, refusing to go up or down.
His road ahead truly looked pitch black.
He sat stiffly for a while before letting out a wail, completely deflated, and flopped back down. Eyes closed in despair, he lay there like a salted fish.
Nothing worked. Everything was blocked. Su Jingyang said, “You might as well let me sleep myself to death…”
The first system tried to comfort him. “Maybe… maybe you’ll get lucky and run into them?”
Su Jingyang did not want to hear that. He was someone who had never even won a ‘try again’ bottle cap prize. Let alone finding this story’s protagonists in a vast sea of people.
After a while, Su Jingyang suddenly thought of something. “Um… number one, are you still there?”
“I am. What is it?”
“I want to ask you something…” Since this system was easier to talk to, Su Jingyang hurried to ask while it was still around. “About last night… that man. Was he conscious?”
Despite feeling miserable about what happened, Su Jingyang could tell that the man pressing against him had been somewhat muddle-headed.
Su Jingyang had personally selected him through the system and felt wronged on his behalf.
For the other man, Su Jingyang had been a complete stranger whose face he never saw. The man might not have wanted to do such a thing at all and had only been controlled by the system.
The thought left a knot in Su Jingyang’s heart. Neither of them had wanted it. Both were nothing more than puppets for the system to vent its resentment.
After hearing this, the system answered seriously. “He was not conscious. For him, it will only be a brief and blurry erotic dream.”
So he had appeared in someone else’s dream. It had felt very real, yet the truth was hard to wrap his head around.
Su Jingyang spaced out for a long time before stiffly tugging at the corner of his mouth, complaining a beat too late. Brief? It didn’t feel brief at all! It had been an entire night of torment. He felt like his internal organs had been pounded loose. He had almost been f*cked to death. His ass was still burning with pain.
“At least… it’s just this once.” Despite how miserable it was, Su Jingyang muttered this with faint relief.
“Who told you it was only once?” The voice turned mocking again. Su Jingyang knew system #2 was back.
It spoke coldly. “Five days from now, if the red mole on your palm hasn’t darkened, that means you didn’t get pregnant. What should continue will continue.”
???!!!
Su Jingyang shot upright as if resurrected on the spot. His half-lidded eyes flew wide open. The sudden movement pulled something painfully, and he hissed for a long while, cold sweat pouring down, before shouting with all his strength, “Say that again?!”
The system snapped furiously. “Do you think I’m some fertility goddess? Of course it means doing it until you get pregnant!”
…WTF!
