PSFGB CHAPTER 1

His Tail Is Broken…

Su Jingyang stood stiffly in the middle of a bustling and crowded street. His already large eyes were opened wide and round, and his whole person was trapped in a state of stunned disbelief.

No matter how hard he tried to imagine it before, he never would’ve thought that a single careless remark could result in punishment, sending him to this place by something calling itself a “system”!!!

The sentence that brought this disaster upon him did not even seem excessive in his own eyes.

He had merely been listening as his female coworkers heatedly discussed a recent news story about a postpartum woman jumping off a building. Unable to suppress his simple curiosity, he casually interjected with a question, “Does giving birth really hurt that much?”

Su Jingyang was a man with no parents, single for 23 years, and interested only in men. He had barely had any in-depth contact with women, and his understanding of them was full of gaps. He had heard before that childbirth was painful, but he also often saw news stories about women giving birth in bathrooms or babies falling out while walking down the street. Those stories inevitably gave him the mistaken impression that childbirth was just a natural process that happened easily enough.

There was truly no malice behind his question.

His quiet doubt was quickly drowned out by the indignant, loud discussion around him. His female coworkers did not hear him and therefore did not answer, so he dropped the matter.

Unexpectedly, just as he reached the pantry to pour himself some water, a voice filled with rage and contempt suddenly appeared inside his head.

“Stupid, ignorant man!!!”

Caught completely off guard, Su Jingyang startled so badly he nearly dropped his cup in his hand onto the floor. He glanced around and saw no one nearby. Just as he was about to assume he had hallucinated, the voice continued to ring clearly inside his mind.

“Heh. Scumbag!”

Completely baffled by the accusation, Su Jingyang instinctively shot back, “Scumbag? Are you talking about me?”

The voice was thick with hostility as it snarled, “Ignorant man, I’m talking about you!!!”

What the hell was going on?! While Su Jingyang’s dark eyes darted around as he silently wondered if he was having a psychotic break, the voice sneered coldly again.

“Asking so many questions is pointless anyway. If you want to know whether giving birth hurts, you can find out by giving birth yourself.”

At that moment, Su Jingyang could not tell whether he felt more shocked or more speechless. Everything traced back to that single sentence he had said, which had attracted this strange existence.

Still, he considered himself upright and fearless, unafraid of ghosts or supernatural nonsense. Curling his lips, he did not take it too seriously. He even thought deep down, who do you think you are? You tell me to give birth and I should just do it? I’m a real man. Wanting me to give birth does not magically give me that ability.

Holding his cup, he prepared to calmly return to his seat. At that moment, another chilling cold laugh echoed in his mind.

Then everything spun violently.

Before he could even react, the world turned upside down, and he found himself standing on a completely unfamiliar ancient street!!!

Everything had happened far too quickly. For a moment, he even suspected he was dreaming, yet everything around him felt terrifyingly real.

The thing calling itself a system directly implanted a stream of information into his brain. Once he processed it, he was utterly shaken.

This world actually had three sexes: men, women, and shuangrenzi.

So-called shuangrenzi looked no different from men, aside from having slightly smaller frames. The greatest difference was that they could get pregnant and give birth.

The most obvious sign of a shuangrenzi was a red mole on the palm. Whether it appeared on the left hand or the right, along with its size and shape, varied from person to person. The red mole accompanied a person until death and never disappeared. Even if you dug it out along with the flesh, it would stubbornly grow back.

In a flash, Su Jingyang suddenly remembered something the system had said before. All his hair stood on end as an extremely bad feeling arose.

He abruptly raised both hands, eyes wide as he stared at his palms.

A red mole the size of a mung-bean sat clearly in the center of his right palm.

Su Jingyang’s head buzzed. His breathing grew unsteady, and his hands trembled violently. He was certain that this was still his own body, yet he had never had anything like this on his palm in all his years of living.

Could it be…?

“System!!!!!!!”

Su Jingyang felt like he was about to explode.

The system’s icy voice sounded at just the right moment. “That’s right. I’ve already modified your body into that of a shuangrenzi. You’ll soon experience just how painful childbirth truly is.”

Su Jingyang’s scalp went numb.

He absolutely did not want to experience that!

After choking for a moment, he finally forced out, “I only asked one question. I didn’t do anything immoral or harmful. Was it really necessary to treat me like this?!”

The system snapped angrily, “You not even realizing how inappropriate you were already makes it inappropriate. You men are all the same, always speaking so lightly, acting as though everything women endure is only natural. Without experiencing it yourself, you’ll never know how difficult women’s circumstances are! You deserve to be punished so you’ll learn your lesson!”

“…How is that me?!” Su Jingyang had a label slapped onto him out of nowhere. He felt furious and utterly confused. He might have been ignorant about this topic, yet how had it escalated to this degree? The reaction was far too extreme.

He was not yet accustomed to conversing with the system in his mind, so to passersby, it looked like he was talking to thin air. People walking by began giving him strange looks and unconsciously keeping their distance.

Noticing this, Su Jingyang shuffled to an empty corner by a wall and squatted down, continuing his argument in a low, indignant voice.

“I’ve never thought like that!”

“You might not have said it, yet do you truly think otherwise?” the system retorted.

Su Jingyang was so angry he felt flames rising in his chest.

He had been single for so many years, never even holding a woman’s hand, and never harming anyone. This system was punishing him by forcing him to give birth over a single sentence. The situation was completely unreasonable.

At the same time, he understood one thing clearly. Since this thing could send him to this world at will, returning home would depend entirely on it. Confronting it head-on would lead nowhere.

After taking a long time to steady his breathing, Su Jingyang finally spoke more gently. “Since things have already come to this, I’ll be honest. I like men. I’ve never wronged any woman, and I never will. Please let me go back.”

The system snorted coldly. “How many men like other men but still deceive women into giving birth for them?? Human trash and scum!”

“…”

Su Jingyang was completely speechless.

He finally understood that this system was filled with resentment, hostility, and obsession. Reasoning with it was impossible.

Worse still, facing something this inexplicable, he had not the slightest ability to resist.

Su Jingyang’s gaze turned dull, his heart sinking into icy despair. What kind of cruel joke was this, forcing a perfectly upright young man into such a situation?

What was he supposed to do?

“Want to go back?” the system sneered. “That’s fine. Wait until after you give birth.”

“…” Please let me quietly die.

After several rounds of futile communication, Su Jingyang wandered aimlessly through the unfamiliar streets, eyes wide with confusion. Everyone around him wore ancient-style clothing. After walking for a while, he realized people had stopped staring at him strangely. Lowering his head, he discovered that his shirt and pants had been replaced by a coarse gray robe with a slanted collar.

He instinctively raised a hand to touch his hair.

The once short and neat hairstyle now hung all the way to his shoulders.

While altering his body, the system had changed his entire appearance in the blink of an eye.

This system truly was sinister.

Feeling increasingly dejected, Su Jingyang finally accepted reality. He was nothing more than flesh and blood, completely unable to fight it. Since he could not fight it, did that mean he could only submit?

He did not want to submit.

Yet without submission, how could he ever go home?

Restless and irritated, he walked until exhaustion forced him to stop. He squatted beneath a tree beside an arched bridge, staring blankly at the people crossing above.

A clean-featured man with a noticeably pregnant belly slowly crossed the bridge.

The sight crashed directly into Su Jingyang’s field of vision.

He burst into a violent coughing fit, nearly choking on his own saliva.

He knew that man must be a shuangrenzi. Even so, the man still looked male while carrying a swollen pregnant belly. A scene that others found perfectly normal delivered an overwhelming shock to someone who had lived over twenty years in modern society.

He absolutely could not accept the idea that he might one day become like that.

The visual impact was too strong. Su Jingyang hurriedly called out to the system again, desperately pleading and sweet-talking, begging it to let him go. His throat grew dry, yet the system did not respond at all.

Angry, furious, and anxious, Su Jingyang nearly scratched his scalp raw yet was completely helpless. With no options left, he stared blankly at the sky. A man who had always been optimistic and carefree finally felt his chest tighten painfully.

Having just arrived, with no money and nowhere to stay, Su Jingyang eventually found a rundown temple. He spread some straw on the ground and lay down. Fortunately, it was summer in this world. Aside from the mosquitoes, he could make do for a night in such a place.

Su Jingyang assumed the system was giving him time to think.

Reality proved that his imagination had been limited by kindness.

“Choose,” the system said coolly. “Failing to choose means I’ll choose for you.”

Su Jingyang stared in disbelief at the rapidly flashing selection screen that appeared out of thin air. His hands trembled as he struggled to endure it.

The system had waited until he was nearly asleep before suddenly appearing, forcing him to choose a man in this world and sleep with him.

He truly did like men, yet he still had principles. Forcing him to randomly choose a man for a one-night stand was utterly absurd.

“You… you, you... you’re really... too much,” Su Jingyang said through clenched teeth, his eyes reddening as he finally snapped. “You son of a b*tch!”

The system laughed coldly. “If you have time to curse me, you should hurry. Once time runs out, I’ll choose for you. Heh, and my choice will definitely be extra thoughtful.”

“You clearly have ill intentions,” Su Jingyang snapped. Panic flashed through his eyes as the progress bar beside him nearly disappeared. He shouted urgently, “Stop!”

The selection screen continued to roll.

After a brief silence, the system muttered, “…Idiot.”

Only then did Su Jingyang realize that voice commands did not work. With the progress bar almost gone, he panicked and jabbed his right index finger randomly at the screen.

The screen finally stopped.

Before he could see what kind of man had been selected, a sharp beep rang in his mind. His vision went black, and he collapsed to the ground.

Before losing consciousness, he vaguely heard the system curse angrily, “Scumbag! You got off easy!”

Su Jingyang felt himself sink into a vast, empty darkness, but he knew it was not a dream.

The sensation of being tightly entangled with someone was painfully real. The tearing pain pierced straight to the bone. Su Jingyang gritted his teeth and endured the man’s fierce movements, tears streaming from the pain.

He had not been given even a moment to prepare at all before being viciously pounced on and taken right there on the spot.

This was his first time. No one could withstand something so rough without preparation. Escape was even impossible. His body felt limp and powerless, as though the system had tampered with it.

Gritting his teeth, he endured it in darkness, drenched in sweat, his body aching until it nearly went numb.

F*cking system! Su Jingyang cursed that piece of sh*t over and over in his heart.

He could not even see the man’s face. All he could sense was scorching breath mixed with a faint scent of alcohol. He wanted to make a sound, yet his throat felt stuffed with cotton, leaving him only able to let out muffled gasps.

Time passed without meaning.

When he felt like he was about to die, the man finally stopped. His mind went blank for a long while. Once his senses slowly returned, the man lowered his head and kissed his lips. Aside from the hint of alcohol, the breath between their mouths was clean and fresh.

From the warmth of his skin and his overwhelming stamina, Su Jingyang could already guess that the chosen man was young and healthy.

Though it sounded ridiculous, this counted as a small mercy amid overwhelming misfortune for him.

His body no longer had the strength to resist. Giving up entirely, he lay there and let the man kiss him, his heart filled with desolation.

Su Jingyang thought it was finally over, that the system’s goal had been achieved and he would be released from this twisted place.

When the man started again, Su Jingyang finally understood what it meant to want to cry but have no tears.

The long, tormenting nightmare eventually ended.

Su Jingyang struggled to open his eyes.

He was back in the ruined temple, still lying on the straw. Pain screamed through his entire body, as though every bone had been shattered.

His eyelashes fluttered. He stared blankly at the dilapidated roof for a long while. Red-eyed, he clutched his aching backside and murmured pitifully,

“My tail is broken…”

IsitRo: I read this story before, so I remembered the previous TL team using the word ger. I know it’s a pretty popular term for male characters in ancient Chinese stories who can give birth and usually have a red mole on their palm or in the middle of their forehead. That said, shuangrenzi feels more appropriate here since it’s an in-world term and its meaning is actually more specific.

If you break it down, shuangrenzi literally refers to a person with dual reproductive roles:

双 (shuang) = double / dual
人 (ren) = person
子 (zi) = child / offspring / seed

Pretty sure in my prev work, I used ger as well~ So it’s gonna be a challenge for me to remember haha!
