AM CHAPTER 83

83: Extra 8 - In This Whole World, I Like You the Most

Knock, knock.

A knock at the door.

The intermittent disturbance made Shen Jin lift his eyelids slightly in the warm embrace. A large hand covered them, and the Alpha’s low voice brushed his ear. “Sleep a little longer. It’s still early.”

Shen Jin hummed and didn’t move. He felt Qian Kun slip out from under the blanket and get out of bed.

When the door opened, Jiang Yifan’s bright grin immediately failed the moment he saw Qian Kun’s expressionless face.

Wuwuwu, so scary! He wasn’t even releasing pheromones, and it still felt like Mount Tai was pressing down on him.

Qian Kun asked, “What?”

Jiang Yifan shivered and blurted everything out in one breath.

“Didn’t you see the group chat yesterday, Kun-ge? Mai-zi suggested we get up early and do a morning run with you guys, and we’re doing a hype meeting this morning.” So they were knocking on doors one by one.

But it was still dark outside. It wasn’t even five yet. Isn’t your hype meeting a little too early?

Qian Kun really did have a daily morning run habit. He needed a lot of exercise to balance out his overly abundant energy.

“You guys go. I’m not going today.”

“Uh, wait!”

Before Jiang Yifan could finish, the door shut in his face.

He muttered, “I didn’t even ask Jin-ge yet.”

Hou Ruixing said, “No need.”

Jiang Yifan said, “Why? Just because Kun-ge isn’t going doesn’t mean Jin-ge won’t.”

“Don’t you think Kun-ge looked exactly like someone whose good time was interrupted and is annoyed about it?”

“Holy sh*t, when you say it like that… it really does. Tsk! Then Kun-ge not beating me up was already insanely good self-control.” Everyone knew how terrifying an Alpha’s possessiveness could get when they were with their lover, let alone Kun-ge with that mental power. Holding back was basically harder than climbing to the heavens.

“Kun-ge just now was terrifying.”

“Good thing we ran fast.”

“Huff… ha… so cold, so cold.”

“Where are Mai-zi and the others? Don’t tell me they’re still asleep?!”

“Looks like… they really are.”

“Ahhh! Can they have some integrity? We’re freezing!”

Their voices faded into the distance. Warmth returned again as Qian Kun climbed back into bed and wrapped Shen Jin in his arms.

Shen Jin leaned against his chest, eyes closed. “I dreamed just now.”

Qian Kun was a little gloomy about dream talk these days.

“What kind of dream?”

“I dreamed you never met me.”

In the original world, Shen Jin had died in a plane crash. The last novel he’d read on the plane was this one, so he remembered the plot clearly.

This novel was unfinished. The author felt that with the gong’s personality, there was no way to force a HE no matter what, so they cut it off at their high school graduation.

Later, the author added one more line: If this were reality, Qian Kun would probably be lonely for life.

Just thinking of that ending made Shen Jin’s chest tighten.

The hand rubbing his back paused.

Qian Kun’s voice sounded a little strange. “And then?”

Shen Jin was still sunk in his memories. In that dream, the novel became reality, and he never transmigrated. Qian Kun searched for him aimlessly until he was old and bent with age.

Maybe Heaven realized the main gong and shou had no chance anymore, so it went to another world to grab a “random person.”

And yet it still wasn’t satisfied. It kept popping up now and then to sabotage things, hoping the main gong would change his mind.

No matter what, Shen Jin was grateful he’d come here.

He nuzzled forward slightly, listening to that strong heartbeat.

“There wasn’t an ‘and then.’ I came here, so there’s no other possibility.”

Qian Kun’s eyes were full of laughter. He didn’t say anything.

He held Shen Jin tightly, as if this person was his entire world.

Ke Minghuai had already finished all his procedures. These were his last few days at the school, and everything was steeped in farewell. There were always classmates surrounding him, unwilling to let him leave early.

That day, after school, he went to the back door of Class Nine to find Shen Jin and handed him a small charm.

Shen Jin had been about to refuse, but his heartbeat thundered the instant he saw the pattern on it.

When he was eight, he’d nearly drowned. Some memories from childhood were blurry, including his memories of transmigrating, so at the start he hadn’t remembered the transmigration at all.

This charm was far too familiar.

Wasn’t this the exact little heavenly-beast charm Qian Kun kept in the dorm, hanging on the fake rock garden, the one used to pray he wouldn’t die alone?

By Liu Manning’s words, it represented the Qian family’s hopes.

In other words, it was one of a kind.

Ke Minghuai said, “After you were hospitalized, you kept wanting to find the person who saved you. Later I went to the area where you fell in and found it.”

He’d just never brought it out. Back then, even Ke Minghuai didn’t know what kind of mindset he had. Thinking of Shen Jin’s dependent gaze, he knew that kind of whole-hearted trust would shift onto someone else. After hesitating again and again, he still hadn’t given it to Shen Jin.

Shen Jin took it in a daze, stroking the texture. Compared to the one in the dorm, this one was a bit smaller.

Perhaps because some time had passed, the fabric had faded slightly.

One look at Shen Jin’s expression, and Ke Minghuai knew Shen Jin had always remembered.

While sorting his things, Ke Minghuai received a callback from the public matching office. He remembered the case. At the time, he’d been overseas. After he returned, he saw Shen Jin’s heart was completely on Qian Kun, so he never dug deeper.

After hanging up, he found the old matching text message again and stared at the last digits of the masked ID.

That ID… seemed to be…

His mind buzzed. He immediately called back. Due to privacy, the matching office wouldn’t disclose the requester’s real identity, but from the scraps of information, he could still confirm it was Shen Jin.

He shouldn’t have lost this completely. At the very least, he shouldn’t have collapsed so utterly in front of Qian Kun.

He had missed too much, far too much.

So much that no matter what he did, there was no way to recover it.

He glanced at Qian Kun in the classroom, who looked like he was playing a handheld console. However, that finger hadn’t moved once since a while ago, had it?

An Alpha’s possessiveness only deepened with time. They couldn’t tolerate another Alpha intruding on their territory.

Yet until now, Qian Kun still hadn’t come over. Instead, he’d given Shen Jin plenty of space to talk and to have friends.

Was it because he cared too much?

Cared so much he was willing to suppress his own nature.

Ke Minghuai looked at Shen Jin deeply.

“Be happy.”

Shen Jin tightened his grip on the charm. “Mm. You too.”

For Ke Minghuai, this was the true farewell.

He hoped that when Shen Jin remembered later, those nine years could still retain something beautiful.

Seeing that Shen Jin seemed to have accepted something, Qian Kun immediately stood up.

A farewell gift like that, the “keep a token” kind, Qian Kun could tell.

What made him furious was Ke Minghuai’s gaze, faintly provocative. What, you’re planning to come back again later?

Ke Minghuai did have that intention. If he ever heard Shen Jin wasn’t doing well in the future, then he wouldn’t hesitate to step in again.

What he’d lost to wasn’t Qian Kun, but Shen Jin’s heart.

When Shen Jin returned to the classroom, he could tell his boyfriend was about to bristle like a cat.

“His flight is tomorrow. Just now was a goodbye.”

Shen Jin always explained first, instinctively.

“I know. It’s fine.”

“…” But your expression doesn’t look fine.

Qian Kun’s “bristling” only deepened the silence, making the atmosphere heavier than usual.

But they were still in class, with classmates everywhere, so Shen Jin couldn’t exactly comfort him properly.

They ate in the cafeteria that day. Halfway through, a lot of Alphas took detours the moment they saw Qian Kun. The pressure was so heavy even Alphas couldn’t handle it.

But whenever Shen Jin spoke to him, Qian Kun’s voice was still low and gentle, like he had split personalities.

Shen Jin made his boyfriend stay seated and went to pick food himself. That was safer.

While choosing dishes, he saw Hu Shengqiang too.

Hu Shengqiang was still going on blind dates. His wallet had taken heavy damage. Only cafeteria prices could comfort the heart shattered by inflation.

While getting his own food, Shen Jin swiped his card for Hu Shengqiang too.

A teacher couldn’t let a student pay. Hu Shengqiang insisted as a teacher. “I’ll transfer it to you on WeChat later.”

“No need. Do you still remember the breakfast you put in my desk drawer at the start of the semester?”

Shen Jin had chronic stomach issues. One morning, he was in a rush and didn’t have time to buy food. There was a steaming millet porridge and an egg pancake in his drawer, along with a note telling him not to forget breakfast.

It had been Hu Shengqiang’s handwriting.

Hu Shengqiang looked completely confused. He was sure he’d never sent it.

Furthermore, Hu Shengqiang wouldn’t lie about something like this.

So if it wasn’t the homeroom teacher, who would go through all that trouble, even imitating handwriting, just to give him breakfast?

That person definitely didn’t want Shen Jin to find out.

And using the homeroom teacher’s tone meant Shen Jin wouldn’t have the chance to ask later unless he happened to run into it.

Someone who fit all those conditions… there seemed to be only one.

Carrying two trays, Shen Jin brought food back to a certain bristling someone, glancing at him from time to time.

Qian Kun asked, “What is it?”

“I once got breakfast, with Old Hu’s handwriting on the note,” Shen Jin said, still trying to confirm one last time.

“Oh. I sent that.”

“…” He admitted that fast.

“Back then you hated me in every way. If I said it was from me, you probably wouldn’t have eaten it.” So he could only send it secretly.

Was that the point?

The point was, they’d only known each other for a few days back then. Surely he couldn’t have liked him on first sight… right?

Ah. No way.

Shen Jin slowly tasted the truth in it.

A blush crept up his ears.

Back in the dorm, the moment they shut the door, before Qian Kun could even react, Shen Jin suddenly turned around and pounced onto him.

His lashes trembled like butterfly wings. He brushed his lips lightly against that thin mouth in front of him.

Shen Jin had never done this before. It was extremely embarrassing. “Are you still mad?”

That ambush made Qian Kun’s expression fully freeze. His heart pounded so hard it felt like it might leap out.

“What would I have to be mad about? I just don’t like the way he looks at you.”

It had been full of regret and lingering affection. This slightly melancholy Ke Minghuai could draw anyone’s sympathy.

Shen Jin pinched the Alpha’s handsome cheek. “But he’s leaving. You won’t see him again.”

Qian Kun caught Shen Jin’s hand before he could pull it back and lowered his head. “True.”

Shen Jin was more restrained in love. Even if he liked someone to death, he might still come off cold and detached.

Seeing someone kiss and then try to run, Qian Kun extended an arm and dragged Shen Jin back into his embrace.

“That doesn’t count as a kiss. I’ll teach you.” Qian Kun’s face was serious, but his movement was swift. He covered those red lips he’d always craved. “Close your eyes.”

Shen Jin couldn’t quite catch his breath and pushed lightly.

Between their lips, Shen Jin murmured, “How do you know so many techniques?”

They were clearly starting from the same line. Why was Qian Kun so far ahead? Shen Jin suddenly felt defeated.

Qian Kun couldn’t help laughing. Looks like the late-night studying had paid off.

“Open your mouth.”

The Alpha’s presence invaded again. This time he was gentle and forceful at once, guiding Shen Jin into tangling with him.

Even after it ended, Shen Jin still leaned against his chest. Not because he didn’t want to leave, but because his legs felt a little soft.

Holding Shen Jin at the waist, Qian Kun asked as if he didn’t care, “Just now, did you take something from him?”

He knew it was a normal farewell gift and that he shouldn’t care, but he cared like hell.

Speaking of that, Shen Jin held back a laugh. “It’s not his.” It’s yours.

He went to the desk and picked up a childhood photo framed in a shiny gold border, the kind Shen Xie’an loved. The photo showed eight-year-old Shen Jin and five-year-old Shen Xie’an.

Shen Jin pointed at himself. “Do you remember anything?”

Shen Jin’s memory of the drowning incident wasn’t very clear, but one thing was certain. Qian Kun had given him a new life.

Qian Kun looked at that frame every day. He only thought Shen Jin had been beautiful even as a kid, though there was a faint sense of familiarity.

Qian Kun realized at once. “Don’t tell me we met before?”

“We did.” Shen Jin took out the smaller heavenly-beast charm. “This is what he gave me. You should have an impression of it.”

Qian Kun had lost a phone charm before. It seemed… he’d saved a kid around his age from drowning, and then it fell somewhere on the way.

That summer, he’d come back to the country on vacation and had just gone through being locked in a storeroom with You Jia. His temper had been so volatile he’d lost control. When he realized the person he’d saved was an Omega, he didn’t even want to look. He had no idea who it was or what they looked like. He called an ambulance and left.

Only after returning home did he realize the charm was gone. Gone was fine. He didn’t care about dying alone anyway.

The family didn’t believe in fate, so they went to a temple and asked for another.

Right. The one hanging on the fake rock garden now.

Qian Kun covered his face and dragged Shen Jin up, pulling him onto the chair so they sat face-to-face.

“You, you…” Shen Jin’s hips landed against the Alpha’s solid thigh. He’d never been held like this before. Desire spilled everywhere.

“Don’t move.”

Shen Jin sensed something and, afraid the Alpha would get too excited, didn’t dare move again.

Qian Kun held Shen Jin in his arms and easily pinned down the small, nervous struggle.

He buried his face.

How much did I miss?

Let me be quiet for a second.

Ke Minghuai’s departure abroad triggered a wave of farewells. Time passed.

When they were still in their second year, they were already feeling sad about goodbyes, and yet without realizing it, they entered the sprint phase.

Even Class Nine, usually all jokes and chaos, put away their frivolity and plunged into endless practice questions.

On the day the college entrance exam ended, the entire class burst out of their exam rooms like birds released from a cage.

They ran into each other at the school gate.

“That was kind of hard, I’m so nervous!”

“I feel like I can do it this time!”

“You got everything?”

“No, but Kun-ge was right next to me. Round it up and that means I can!”

“Don’t forget he’s the emperor who got 725 on the five-school joint exam. My middle school classmates all asked me, is your school’s Qian Kun human or a god? When he writes, I feel like the god of writing possesses my pen, inspiration pouring out. That must be the power bestowed by the Star of Literature!”

“Which of our two gods is taking first in the city?”

“Does it even matter who takes it? Husband and husband don’t distinguish between each other, alright?”

“No difference. All I know is if Kun-ge gets it, he might have to kneel on durian when he gets home.”

“Wuhu, I wanna see!!”

“You guys are that direct? Will other schools think we’re too arrogant? Keep it low-key. I think we can still look forward to our province ranking!”

“Even though the questions were hard, still, everyone please type ‘Kun-ge is badass’ in the chat!”

“Brothers, it’s finally over! Skewers or what?”

“Hot pot is better, lively!”

“In this heat? Hot pot will have us sweating like crazy. Might as well do all-you-can-eat?”

“Wait, did anyone see Kun-ge and Jin-ge?”

“Too many people, didn’t!”

That afternoon after the exam ended, Shen Jin shut off his phone.

He was in Qian Kun’s apartment now, the one near the school, the place they’d come to not long after meeting.

They’d spent their review period here. Qian Kun had even prepared a room just for Shen Jin.

Shen Jin came out of the shower, damp all over.

He saw Qian Kun sitting at the edge of the bed, sending voice messages to their classmates, calling them out to eat. But today, it was clear he’d be absent.

Qian Kun had showered first. Now he wore only a black bathrobe. The parted collar faintly revealed solid muscle.

Shen Jin only glanced once, and his neck flushed red.

When Qian Kun saw him come out, he set his phone down and turned it off too.

What came next was something they’d agreed on back in their second year.

Shen Jin knew that once they decided on a final mark, he was a Beta. Even the deepest mark would fade one day. But for Qian Kun, it might be a lifetime.

He wanted Qian Kun to think it through before taking that last step. The deadline was after the college entrance exam ended, meaning today.

And Qian Kun didn’t seem to have any intention of changing his mind.

Qian Kun walked over. Shen Jin’s fingers curled slightly as he looked up at him nervously.

Qian Kun already had an adult’s physique. Over the past year, his pheromones had grown even more restrained, but his pressure was heavier than ever.

Shen Jin was used to being around him, so he didn’t feel it as strongly. But in the past year, plenty of Alphas who looked at Shen Jin carried a trace of awe.

Qian Kun brought Shen Jin to sit in a chair first, turned on the hairdryer, and carefully dried his hair.

The hum of the dryer eased Shen Jin’s nerves. Once his hair was dry, the Alpha led him to the window. Shen Jin had barely sat down when he saw the person in front of him drop to one knee.

A red velvet box appeared.

Qian Kun’s pheromones spilled out. He wasn’t as calm as he looked.

“The law says you can marry at eighteen. We’re already a year late. This year, no matter what, I think I should marry myself off.”

Marry yourself off?

Shen Jin’s frantic heartbeat almost couldn’t hold steady on that word.

He hadn’t expected it to be this soon. He’d thought today would only be…

What Qian Kun said next wiped the smile from his face.

“I’ve imagined so many scenes. Roses and flowers, the sky, the sea… But what I want most is this moment. Are you willing to spend the rest of your life with me?”

Thump.

Thump thump thump.

Their heartbeats tangled together.

“If I refuse, what then?”

“Then I’ll keep asking.”

Steady and matter-of-fact.

Shen Jin took a deep breath. His eyes shimmered faintly with moisture, and he turned his face away to hide it.

Slowly, he held out his hand.

Joy burst in Qian Kun’s eyes like a flare. His hand trembled as he slipped the ring onto Shen Jin’s finger.

Shen Jin asked softly, “What about yours?”

Qian Kun took it out of his pocket, and Shen Jin put it on him too.

Qian Kun stared at the ring on his own ring finger. Maybe the joy was too overwhelming. For a moment, he couldn’t even speak, only staring, again and again, at their matching rings.

The Alpha stood, scooped Shen Jin up with one arm, and the two of them fell onto the soft bed together.

The belt of Shen Jin’s bathrobe was tugged loose. The sheets were black. Shen Jin lay stretched out, like a rose in bloom.

Beautiful.

Qian Kun restrained himself as he pressed kisses down, leaving marks that belonged only to him.

Who knows how long passed before Shen Jin’s whole body went soft.

Qian Kun looked down at him from above. “You still have the chance to regret it. After this, I might not be able to control myself.”

Shen Jin was so shy he felt feverish.

“The one who should be thinking about regret… shouldn’t it be you…”

Qian Kun’s voice was hoarse.

“There’s no need.”

Before taking that step, Shen Jin had been confident.

He thought his stamina was decent, even better than the average Alpha.

Even if the internet exaggerated Alphas above S-rank like they were unstoppable monsters, and even if Liu Qimai and the others kept feeding him weird ideas, he still believed he wouldn’t be that bad.

By the third night, Shen Jin finally realized just how terrifying an Alpha could be once control was gone.

But since he’d agreed, he gritted his teeth and told himself he couldn’t be too useless at this, even though he already looked like a dead fish.

In the end, it was Qian Kun who couldn’t bear it and stopped on his own. When he carried Shen Jin to wash up, Shen Jin was already so sleepy he fell asleep immediately.

When Shen Jin woke up again, he was leaning against the Alpha’s chest.

How many days? He had no idea. It feels like he had lived an entire century.

The moment he opened his eyes, Qian Kun noticed.

“Anywhere uncomfortable?”

Thinking of the way they’d been utterly shameless in this room for days, Shen Jin couldn’t lift his head.

He was clean now. Even in deep sleep, he’d still felt Qian Kun bathe him, check his temperature now and then, and apply medicine.

“No…”

His voice was already hoarse from shouting.

Qian Kun helped him sit up, propped a cushion behind him, then went to the kitchen and brought back the soft porridge he’d kept warm.

He didn’t know when Qian Kun had cooked it. It was vegetable congee, Shen Jin’s favorite. The temperature was just right, as if it had been waiting for him to wake at any moment.

Qian Kun wanted to feed him, but Shen Jin refused and insisted on eating it himself.

Shen Jin thought about how, whenever he woke, Qian Kun would immediately wake too. That was a sign of insecurity.

“I won’t leave.”

Qian Kun looked at the ring on Shen Jin’s finger, kissed it along with his hand.

Shen Jin’s fingers curled reflexively.

Qian Kun looked at the shadows under his eyes, aching with tenderness. “Mm. Want to sleep again?”

A faint ache lingered somewhere. His whole body was sore and soft. Shen Jin nodded immediately. “Sleep.”

Too tired. He’d glanced at his phone earlier. Eight days.

He’d slept a full day. It was noon on the ninth day now. Heh.

He didn’t dare ask where Qian Kun’s limit was.

Not knowing was fine.

Qian Kun cleaned up the dishes, returned to bed, pulled Shen Jin into his arms, and pressed a hand to the back of his head.

“Sleep. I’ll stay with you.”

Shen Jin rested for several more days and only went back to school on the day they filled out their applications.

He and Qian Kun both applied to the same university, aiming for Qing University’s most prestigious major. It had always been their shared goal.

A sharp-eyed classmate noticed the matching rings on their hands. It was like someone kicked a hornet’s nest. The Nanhu forum exploded again.

[I said the way Kun-ge looked at Ice God wasn’t right. Of course the second they graduated he carried the Civil Affairs Bureau over!]

[Civil Affairs Bureau, you’re a grown bureau now. Please come over by yourself.]

[Ahhh! Is this something I’m allowed to see?!]

[Does anyone know the brand? Where can I buy the same one? I want the matching set! It’s so pretty!]

[Mu Li’s official site has pictures, but no purchase link. People say the boss designed it himself, so it’s a one-off.]

[Wait, there are still people who don’t know Mu Li is the Crown Prince’s family business?]

[Wuwuwuwu, what kind of fairy love is this!]

[I don’t even know who to envy! They match so well, they’re absolutely perfect together!]

[Did you guys see Old Feng? Ever since the rumor that Ice God might be dating got out, Old Feng’s been like a frost-bitten eggplant.]

Old Feng was the grade director, who’d always valued Shen Jin as a model student in the “no early dating” campaign.

Who would’ve thought Shen Jin couldn’t hold it either, knowingly breaking the rules!

But the problem was, Shen Jin always hovered in the top three. The teachers couldn’t even find a reason to lecture him. As a teacher, wouldn’t that make you furious? It was infuriating!

[Old Feng, stand up! The middle school bully Shen Xie’an is coming. The anti-love ambassador has a successor!]

[Shen Xie’an looks kind of like Ice God. Why am I graduating? I won’t get to see the fierce little brother anymore!]

[Please lock them down, forever and ever! Wuwu, a CP I ship actually became real in my lifetime!]

[Breaking: Class Nine says they’re throwing them a celebration!]

[Wah, I wanna go! Can I join?!]

When they were leaving campus this time, Jiang Yifan and the others crowded around them, talking about summer plans. As their homeroom teacher Hu Shengqiang passed by, he smiled at Shen Jin. “When’s the wedding? Don’t forget to send me an invitation.”

Shen Jin froze, not sure how to respond. Qian Kun smiled and nodded. “We’re still picking a date.”

Jiang Yifan said, “Xiao Qiang, don’t tell me our gods are already married and you’re still out there on the blind-date grind!”

Hou Ruixing said, “Brutal. I’m in too. Let’s bet whether Xiao Qiang can get a partner this year!”

Hu Shengqiang said, “…Don’t think I can’t deal with you just because you graduated. Heh. The schools you’re going to have plenty of my alumni.”

“Ah!!”

“Xiao Qiang, show mercy!”

“Hmph.”

“Teacher, come to the rooftop tonight to set off fireworks together!”

“Get lost. I’ve got a blind date!”

They’d planned to buy fireworks together, but halfway through, Qian Kun saw a message from his grandpa.

[Bring my grandson-in-law home!]

[I don’t want tomorrow, I don’t want the day after, I want today!]

[Your dad and mom have both met him one-on-one already. Does grandpa not deserve a look too?]

[You unfilial grandson!!]

Qian Kun laughed helplessly. After meeting his mom last time, Shen Jin had been so nervous he nearly died.

Qian Kun showed Shen Jin the messages. Shen Jin pressed his lips together. Xie Ling had once told him Grandpa Qian was a famously iron-faced general in the business world, relatively strict.

But when they arrived at the Qian house, they were met with a welcome beyond anything Shen Jin expected.

The old master looked at Shen Jin with pure satisfaction, saying “good” again and again, so warm and kind Shen Jin felt flustered by the favor.

Grandpa Qian learned Shen Jin could play chess. Having finally found a chess buddy, he immediately set up a board.

After several rounds, Shen Jin finally took his leave. Watching the two of them walk away together, the old man’s cloudy eyes grew damp.

Liu Manning supported him.

The old man wiped at his eyes. “That troublemaker… he’s finally gotten what he wanted this time, huh?”

After an hour of negotiation, the school agreed to rent out the platform for them to set off fireworks.

A group of students finished dinner and waited early, watching the sunset on the rooftop. Shen Jin and the others arrived later. By then, the sky had already darkened.

Luo Ying chose the prettiest two sparklers and handed them over.

She said with forced composure, “You two gods, may you have a hundred years of harmony!”

Wuwuwu. Mom’s favorite CP is real! I want to shout it to the whole world!

Mom is so happy. Babies, you have to stay happy forever!

Shen Jin said, “Thank you.”

Qian Kun wiped the sweat from Shen Jin’s forehead with a tissue, then handed his own sparkler to Shen Jin.

Luo Ying screamed internally and was immediately dragged away by Liu Qimai.

Shen Jin looked around and spotted You Jia not far away. The two of them exchanged a smile.

You Jia had moved in the second half of their second year, but he hadn’t transferred schools.

He liked the vibe of Class Nine, liked these classmates, and couldn’t bear to leave.

Jiang Yifan handed him an extra sparkler. “Your boyfriend didn’t come, right? Then take his share too and light it.”

You Jia stammered, “N-not yet.”

He and Yan Bin had talked things out, but two people like hedgehogs needed time to adjust. He was still working on chasing him back.

“Who says it’s not?”

Jiang Yifan laughed and told him to turn around. The rooftop door opened, and there stood an Alpha, panting.

Yan Bin was already in college, and just like in the original story, he’d been hired by a network company at a high salary.

“Didn’t you say you still had work today?”

“You’re graduating today. I didn’t want to miss it.”

They still hadn’t spelled everything out, but they both understood.

You Jia looked toward Shen Jin and thought silently, thank you for pulling me back. You let me become a better person.

Jiang Yifan lit everyone’s sparklers. They counted down from three and all struck poses together.

“We graduated!”

Click.

Luo Ying pressed the shutter.

She captured that moment, their youth belonging only to them.

Above them, the stars were scattered across the sky.

Qian Kun looked out at the night view in the distance and leaned close, whispering.

“Shen Jin.”

“Mm?”

“In this whole world, I like you the most.”

Shen Jin turned his head and saw starlight glittering in Qian Kun’s eyes.

“Me too.”
