DLOBML CHAPTER 58

Chapter 58  The Stallion ML Meltdown (10) | That Moment, Humanity Remembered the Fear of Being Ruled by the Demon King

The next morning, Xing Ge carried someone back in her arms.

Those who didn’t know what had happened saw the Grand Chancellor’s paper-white face and immediately assumed the two had gone through a fierce “battle” last night. Everyone expressed sympathy and offered comforting pats on the shoulder.

The butcher even grabbed his friend’s hand, looking emotional. “All for your brother’s happiness, huh? You’ve worked hard, man!”

The Grand Chancellor lifted his head and gave Xing Ge a faint, knowing smile.

She rubbed her nose awkwardly, saying nothing.

Well… she had just made a mistake that “any man” might make.

Beauty was a dangerous thing, it ruined people, truly.

And so, the Prime Minister ended up lying in her sleeping quarters for three full days.

Xing Ge, on the other hand, was suffering in silence. Ever since the Grand Chancellor had taken “sick leave,” all the affairs of state had fallen on her shoulders. She’d been reading memorials from morning till night until her eyes were practically spiraling like mosquito coils.

What was worse, the man lying in bed recovering seemed to have endless energy for teasing her.

“Your Majesty’s fingers are so long and slender. They left quite the marks on me that night.”

“Your Majesty’s robes today look wonderful… but I still prefer how you look without them.”

“Why are you staring at me like that again, Your Majesty? Could it be you want to…”

He shifted slightly, his eyes glimmering with a watery light that was downright seductive.

“Do you really want to ravish me to death?”

Xing Ge: …

She truly could not understand where these delicate, “injured for three days straight” weaklings found the audacity to flirt with someone as domineering and almighty as her, the great Emperor, the eternal top of all tops!

Yu Ge caught sight of her composed, untouchable expression and curved his lips. Deciding to take matters into his own hands, he sauntered over and sat in her lap with feigned tenderness.

“Your Majesty, you’re sweating so much. Allow me to wipe it off for you.”

Xing Ge: …

Excuse her, but she wasn’t even the sweating type.

And if you’re going to wipe, then wipe, what’s with all that wandering hand business?!

Her temper flared, and before things got completely out of hand, she grabbed his hand tightly. “Enough fooling around. Who was it crying and begging for mercy last time, huh? Already forgotten how that felt?”

She shot him a look.

“Who? Whoever it was, they’re too weak. Such a disgrace to Great Yan!”

The Prime Minister instantly put on his best innocent face.

When Xing Ge started tugging at his robe as punishment, he suddenly clutched his chest and trembled pitifully, like a fragile beauty in distress. “Your Majesty, my heart hurts so much. I feel like I’m dying… I can’t handle any strenuous activity.”

Xing Ge narrowed her eyes. Two could play at this game.

Keeping her face solemn, she said, “Don’t be afraid. I once studied healing arts from a reclusive master.”

“Oh?” Yu Ge arched a graceful brow. “I’m listening.”

“He taught me a supreme secret technique. It’s too precious to spread, so I’ve never shared it with anyone.” Her tone was deadly serious.

The Prime Minister fluttered his lashes, voice dripping honey. “My body and my heart both belong to Your Majesty. How could you still not trust me?”

Ever since their relationship had taken a certain leap, his natural seductiveness had reached demonic levels. Every movement, every glance seemed designed to lure her soul away.

She sighed. “Fine then. Come closer. I’ll tell you quietly.”

Curious what trick she was up to, Yu Ge leaned forward with a teasing smile.

Smooch.

She cupped his face and planted a loud kiss on his lips.

“Feeling better now?” she asked seriously.

When Emperor Xing Ge decided to flirt, even she scared herself.

The Prime Minister froze, then his face turned bright red. He shyly buried his head against her chest, rubbing against her like a spoiled cat.

“Your Majesty’s healing arts are miraculous. My heart ailment’s completely cured. You may… do as you please now.”

Xing Ge: …

“‘Do as you please’ is just a child, please, spare it!”

“Your Majesty! Trouble! A prisoner has escaped!”

A breathless guard ran in shouting, only to freeze at the sight before him.

His wise and heroic emperor was sitting with the dazzling Prime Minister in her lap playing kissy-face or something...

Playing kissy-face or something...

Playing kissy-face...

The guard turned to stone.

“All right, my dear Grand Chancellor, I’ve just transferred some of my spiritual energy to you,” Xing Ge said solemnly, patting Yu Ge’s shoulder. “Your wounds shouldn’t hurt anymore.”

“It’s all thanks to Your Majesty,” Yu Ge replied dutifully. “I feel much better now. I should be able to sleep soundly tonight, but what about you, Your Majesty? After giving me so much energy, especially after last night’s battle, you must be exhausted.”

He grasped her hand, his tone full of deep concern.

“It’s nothing. The important thing is for you to rest and recover. I still have many state matters to discuss with you once you’re better.” Xing Ge kept her expression stiff as she pried his fingers off hers.

“Your Majesty’s kindness… I will never forget it,” he murmured.

Then, without warning, the Grand Chancellor launched a sneak attack, one hand right to the chest.

Xing Ge: Can you not grope me when someone’s watching?!

The two of them looked every bit the picture of imperial harmony and affection. Well, maybe “warmth” was the better word.

The guard’s eyes shimmered with tears.

He even took out a little handkerchief to wipe his nose.

Compared to those rulers and ministers who turned against each other for power, their emperor and prime minister were pure and genuine. An innocent stream amidst the muddy current!

So noble! So selfless! His Majesty even risked being misunderstood just to heal her minister’s body!

What a grand, forbidden, passionate bond between ruler and subject!

…Wait, that wording sounded a little wrong.

The guard blinked and tried not to think too hard about it.

“You’re saying Han Qian, who was imprisoned in the dungeon, escaped??”

“Forgive me, Your Majesty. When the jailer went to deliver his meal, the cell was empty. There were no signs of forced entry, but this was found beside the bed.” He held out a dark scroll of sheepskin, the runes on it dull and faded.

“A teleportation scroll?” Xing Ge glanced at it and sighed. The male lead’s protagonist aura was truly overpowered. Even an item this rare, top-tier even in the black market, had somehow landed in his hands. Never underestimate a stallion protagonist.

“In that case, I’ll bring him back myself.”

She waved the guard away and began packing her things at lightning speed.

Food, necessary.

Weapons, for self-defense.

Tent, for sleeping.

Gray little chick, for entertainment.

Very good. Packing complete.

Depart and have fun!

Smack.

A long leg suddenly stretched out and tripped her.

Xing Ge had anticipated this. She quickly braced her hands against the floor and flipped backward in one graceful motion.

Flawless defense.

She mentally gave herself 101 out of 100 points.

“Your Majesty, off to chase a man?”

The Prime Minister sat lazily against a red pillar, one leg crossed over the other. His thin green robe hung loosely around his slender waist, revealing glimpses of white skin. His dark hair was half-tied, a few messy strands falling beside his face, making his pale features look sinfully alluring.

Chasing a man?

Well… technically, catching Han Qian was chasing a man.

So she nodded honestly. “Yeah.”

And feeling she was being considerate, she added, “You’re still recovering, so don’t follow me. I don’t want you slowing me down.”

“Oh? I see. So Your Majesty thinks I’d only get in the way of your man-chasing plans?”

He smiled faintly and, with a sharp click, swung the palace doors shut.

The light vanished.

Top: “Wait, why’d you close the door? It’s still daytime!”

Bottom: “You can still do bad things even when it’s not dark.”

And at that moment, humanity once again remembered the fear of being ruled by the Demon King.
