AM CHAPTER 79

79: Extra 4 - Jealousy

The moment Qian Kun kissed him, he lifted the coat he’d taken off and covered the both of them.

Shen Jin only felt darkness fall, and then that warm touch landed on his lips.

With his vision taken away, his other senses sharpened.

Between their alternating breaths, the air grew thinner and hotter. Shen Jin didn’t expect that in such a short time, Qian Kun could go from clumsy to skilled, steadily pressing forward as if taking a city inch by inch.

After a wave of laughter in the theater, Luo Ying heard a very faint wet sound from the back row.

It was like a thin thread snapping against her eardrum, carrying a tiny current of electricity.

She turned her head and saw a couple hidden beneath a trench coat. Their movements weren’t particularly loud, it was just that her hearing had always been good.

In the dim light, she could make out the Alpha unhurriedly stroking the slim waist of the person in his arms. The one being held down seemed unable to withstand the deep kiss, trembling slightly.

A faint, lingering sensuality hovered in the air. Luo Ying’s small face turned bright red. Even though she couldn’t actually see anything, she practically wanted to jump up. This couple’s chemistry was insane!

Zheng Zhipeng saw her staring backward and was about to look too, but Luo Ying slapped a hand over his eyes and whispered, “Don’t look.”

Only when Shen Jin could barely breathe did Qian Kun finally let him go. In the end, he lightly pecked Shen Jin’s swollen lips.

Shen Jin’s eyes were slightly open. In the shifting light, they looked like ink spreading through water. The Alpha chuckled softly. “Don’t look at me like that.”

That will make it so I can’t control myself.

Shen Jin sensed danger and weakly glared at him.

The Alpha licked his lips.

Like he was savoring the aftertaste.

Shen Jin’s heart jumped twice faster. After that, he couldn’t focus on what the movie was even showing.

They left before it ended. Qian Kun clearly had no faith in his luck anymore. He only wanted to date Shen Jin in peace and quiet. That wasn’t such a high demand, was it?

When the four-person group came out, Luo Ying was still replaying what she’d seen in the theater.

When she looked up, she spotted a familiar back as it entered the elevator.

“Doesn’t that look like Kun-ge?”

“Kun-ge, Jin-ge! What a coincidence!” Jiang Yifan grinned and called out.

The others immediately wanted to catch up and do an “off-campus meetup,” but the two suspiciously boss-like figures slipped into the elevator quickly.

Didn’t they hear?

Luo Ying’s focus, however, was on that slightly familiar trench coat.

She suddenly clapped a hand over her mouth and gasped, “Ah!”

It felt like… she just figured something out.

Nanhu High’s forum was lively as ever.

These days, more and more people had realized the two big shots fighting for first place in the grade had not only become friends instead of enemies, but they also seemed to be dating. It was practically one of Nanhu’s Top Ten Miracles.

[I saw Ice God go to the track to deliver water! Guess who he delivered it to, it was Kun-ge!!]

[Jin-ge just walked right into a whole group of Alphas like nobody mattered, then handed the water over. AHHHHHH I want to become that bottle of water, Kun-ge is so blessed!]

[Didn’t he deliver water before too?]

[It’s different! That time they felt like they were on the verge of fighting any second! This time Kun-ge even smiled a little, it killed my Omega soul.]

[What are you all freaking out about? I saw a ball fly toward Jin-ge and Kun-ge was several meters away, but he still dove over and wrapped an arm around Jin-ge, so swoony AHHH!]

[Weren’t you all swearing before that they would never date?]

[But once you accept this setting, you can’t stop imagining things.]

[It’s because it’s impossible. The second there’s a hint, it becomes so delicious! Do you even get it, gap moe!

[Do they have a CP group chat? I want to join! Anyone know what it’s called?]

Shen Jin noticed that lately, whenever he walked around school, his “head-turn rate” was unusually high.

He was only puzzled for a moment before he shook it off. He’d been busy recently. The senior student leaders were stepping down this semester, and as one of the main people handling handover, Shen Jin suddenly had a lot more tasks.

So he ended up neglecting his boyfriend a little. At first, Qian Kun understood, but after it happened too many times, one night, just as Shen Jin was about to wash up, he was lifted onto the sink and received his exclusive “punishment.”

After too many “punishments,” Shen Jin started to feel like Qian Kun’s technique was becoming increasingly proficient. Which made Shen Jin’s own complete lack of progress stand out painfully.

As for that, Qian Kun felt very satisfied.

“Finally, there’s something even Jin-ge isn’t good at. From now on, leave this kind of thing to me.”

The Alpha cupped Shen Jin’s face with one hand. Under the warm-white light, his smile was intoxicating.

Just thinking of that scene made Shen Jin’s expression turn slightly unnatural.

“Xiao Jin… Xiao Jin?”

Ke Minghuai called him several times before Shen Jin finally snapped back. He was still on duty!

Today, it was Ke Minghuai and Shen Jin’s turn to patrol the school after dismissal. Ke Minghuai asked, “What were you thinking about?”

To cover his embarrassment, Shen Jin grabbed a topic at random. “Congratulations. Your team won first place in this provincial math-olympiad group competition. Next you’ll be competing at the provincial level, right? Good luck.”

Ke Minghuai froze. He hadn’t expected Shen Jin to remember that news.

The moment it came out, it spread through the whole school. Of course Shen Jin had heard about it.

Ke Minghuai couldn’t help smiling, making the passing students click their tongues in amazement.

Ke Minghuai always carried a three-parts smile when he saw people. He rarely had emotional highs and lows. Even when he smiled, it was usually measured, like he had a ruler set to it. A smile filled with pure joy like this was almost never seen.

After patrol ended, Shen Jin headed back toward the classroom.

Ke Minghuai lifted his gaze and saw an Alpha waiting on the steps of the teaching building. His heart felt hollow.

“After this semester, I’m going to Country Y to further my studies.”

Shen Jin paused. That news hadn’t been spread. Ke Minghuai probably hadn’t told anyone.

In this interschool competition, Ke Minghuai had performed outstandingly and was accepted early into an elite Country Y science-and-technology university’s pheromone major. Shen Jin offered his congratulations. Ke Minghuai had always been exceptional among his peers.

“Do you want to go with me?” Ke Minghuai’s invitation was abrupt, and he quickly explained why. “Do you still remember Snowball? You designed it.”

Shen Jin said, “But Snowball’s patent belongs to you.”

Although it had been designed as Shen Jin’s birthday gift, Shen Jin had no interest in running a brand. After finishing the design, he handed the patent and all subsequent brand benefits to Ke Minghuai.

Even now, though the chubby rabbits were globally famous and even had a co-branded animated film in theaters, bringing the Ke family enormous profits, and even though Ke Minghuai had once offered him shares, Shen Jin never had any related intentions.

Back when the engagement was called off, Xie Ling had mocked the Ke family for treating Shen Jin like a beggar. This was part of the reason. You gained plenty of benefits because of Shen Jin, yet you never stopped being harsh to him.

Recently, against his family’s opposition, Ke Minghuai had discussed an equity transfer agreement with Xie Ling. He wanted to return what belonged to Shen Jin.

Ke Minghuai handed two handwritten letters to Shen Jin.

“With this design alone, you could be admitted to a top design school. If you don’t want to attend a design institute, I showed the articles you published over the years in the school journal to a few relevant teachers. One professor took interest in your classical literature foundation. With his recommendation, you can receive an early offer.” The recommendation letter in Ke Minghuai’s hand was written by that professor.

Ke Minghuai spoke sincerely. He lowered his voice. “When you were little, you said you wanted to leave this place behind. Does that still count now?”

Ke Minghuai thought Shen Jin would at least consider it. Instead, Shen Jin answered immediately.

“That was childish nonsense. How could it count?”

“You won’t consider it anymore?”

“Here, I have things I care about.”

Shen Jin took a few steps, and Ke Minghuai’s voice came from behind him.

“Including him?”

Shen Jin looked toward the Alpha already walking this way.

“Of course.”

Qian Kun approached and took the registration booklet from Shen Jin’s arms. His expression was unreadable as he lifted a leg and walked off.

The Alpha had long legs. When he walked faster, Shen Jin almost couldn’t keep up.

Once they were side by side, Shen Jin evened out his breathing.

“He was only nine years. If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll have nineteen years, twenty-nine years…” Why are you getting worked up over him here?

The Alpha lowered his brows. “Countless nine-year stretches require one premise.”

“What?”

“Let’s graduate first.”

Then, I’ll ask you again.

Shen Jin looked up, his heart suddenly skipping a beat.

Beside his ear came the soft rustle of ginkgo leaves falling.

Qian Kun didn’t say anything else, yet it felt like he was hiding words that could make a person’s heart race.

During evening self-study, Hu Shengqiang didn’t show up. According to gossip, this lifelong single was finally going on his first blind date.

Class 9 was even more excited about it than he was, spamming the group chat with strategies for their teacher.

The other students couldn’t focus on studying either. Jiang Yifan suggested that after they finished homework, they should relax a little and do something else.

“You all went too far yesterday. You watched a movie together and didn’t even call us. Today you have to make up for it!”

“Strongly agree!”

“We should watch a movie, and it has to be a romance. It’s perfect for the vibe!”

“Winter can’t stop Xiao Qiang’s love flames!”

“Hope Xiao Qiang wins right away. Xiao Qiang, you better step it up and get a partner already!”

“Why are we, a bunch of people who haven’t gotten a partner, this excited about someone else getting one?”

“Jin-ge, where’d you put the projector remote?”

“Let me look.”

Ever since Shen Jin became the temporary “life committee” member, the class felt like their daily life had become increasingly orderly.

So Shen Jin accidentally went from temp labor to also holding a full-time position.

He found the remote on the podium, turned on the projector, switched to the movie channel, then handed it to Jiang Yifan.

Qian Kun leaned by the window. Shen Jin walked over to see what he was doing, but the Alpha suddenly hauled him into his arms. Shen Jin hadn’t even had time to gasp before the Alpha covered his mouth. Qian Kun pulled the curtain shut, wrapping their silhouettes together behind it.

Outside was dim. When Shen Jin looked up, he saw the Alpha’s sharp, defined jawline. His eyes widened.

The Alpha lightly kissed his lips.

A low voice brushed Shen Jin’s ear. “Stop paying attention to him. I’ll get jealous.”

But from the moment they ran into Ke Minghuai in the afternoon until now, it had already been hours.

Before Shen Jin could finish thinking it through, Qian Kun released him. The curtain rippled like a wave. None of their classmates noticed those brief seconds.

Shen Jin’s heartbeat wouldn’t slow down, however.
