79: Extra 4 - Jealousy
The moment Qian Kun kissed him, he lifted the coat he’d taken off and covered the both of them.
Shen Jin only felt darkness fall, and then that warm touch landed on his lips.
With his vision taken away, his other senses sharpened.
Between their alternating breaths, the air grew thinner and hotter. Shen Jin didn’t expect that in such a short time, Qian Kun could go from clumsy to skilled, steadily pressing forward as if taking a city inch by inch.
After a wave of laughter in the theater, Luo Ying heard a very faint wet sound from the back row.
It was like a thin thread snapping against her eardrum, carrying a tiny current of electricity.
She turned her head and saw a couple hidden beneath a trench coat. Their movements weren’t particularly loud, it was just that her hearing had always been good.

After patrol ended, Shen Jin headed back toward the classroom.
Ke Minghuai lifted his gaze and saw an Alpha waiting on the steps of the teaching building. His heart felt hollow.
“After this semester, I’m going to Country Y to further my studies.”
Shen Jin paused. That news hadn’t been spread. Ke Minghuai probably hadn’t told anyone.
In this interschool competition, Ke Minghuai had performed outstandingly and was accepted early into an elite Country Y science-and-technology university’s pheromone major. Shen Jin offered his congratulations. Ke Minghuai had always been exceptional among his peers.
“Do you want to go with me?” Ke Minghuai’s invitation was abrupt, and he quickly explained why. “Do you still remember Snowball? You designed it.”
Shen Jin said, “But Snowball’s patent belongs to you.”

Ke Minghuai handed two handwritten letters to Shen Jin.
“With this design alone, you could be admitted to a top design school. If you don’t want to attend a design institute, I showed the articles you published over the years in the school journal to a few relevant teachers. One professor took interest in your classical literature foundation. With his recommendation, you can receive an early offer.” The recommendation letter in Ke Minghuai’s hand was written by that professor.
Ke Minghuai spoke sincerely. He lowered his voice. “When you were little, you said you wanted to leave this place behind. Does that still count now?”
Ke Minghuai thought Shen Jin would at least consider it. Instead, Shen Jin answered immediately.
“That was childish nonsense. How could it count?”
“You won’t consider it anymore?”
“Here, I have things I care about.”
Shen Jin took a few steps, and Ke Minghuai’s voice came from behind him.
“Including him?”

“Of course.”

Outside was dim. When Shen Jin looked up, he saw the Alpha’s sharp, defined jawline. His eyes widened.
The Alpha lightly kissed his lips.
A low voice brushed Shen Jin’s ear. “Stop paying attention to him. I’ll get jealous.”
But from the moment they ran into Ke Minghuai in the afternoon until now, it had already been hours.
Before Shen Jin could finish thinking it through, Qian Kun released him. The curtain rippled like a wave. None of their classmates noticed those brief seconds.
Shen Jin’s heartbeat wouldn’t slow down, however.
