EHEWASS CHAPTER 107

Chapter 107: Lu Jun

Thinking back over the stories he’d just gone through, Li Dong realized the protagonist shous didn’t really linger on their scummy gongs at all. Their behavior was completely different from what he remembered.

Truly strange, truly strange.

If they could’ve been that decisive and self-respecting in the books, he probably wouldn’t have had anything to do at all…

That odd feeling had been there the whole time.

Vaguely, he felt a truth was waiting for him.

Before long, that truth would surface.

By this point, getting close to the protagonist shou had become an easy habit.

Thankfully, Li Dong wasn’t the type to overthink. If it didn’t feel forced and he didn’t dislike it, he just went with the flow and kept going.

For instance, Li Tingyi had unexpectedly “received his boxed lunch,” and Lu Jun had stepped away from the high-risk profession of killing.

It looked like everything had wrapped up perfectly, with nothing left for him to do.

Still, walking around every day under the new identity of Pei Ruozhen felt… off.

Li Dong knew he shouldn’t bother Lu Jun, yet he couldn’t help it. At every sunrise and sunset, he found himself thinking of the time they’d spent together on the ship.

Where would he go?

He’d wondered that long ago, and the question kept circling in his mind.

Judging by the wishes hinted at in the original, Lu Jun didn’t have many places he would choose.

After about half a month in the capital, Li Dong packed a small bag and set out alone.

He first went to the place he thought most likely, but struck out.

He didn’t get discouraged. He headed for the next spot.

As soon as he got off, warmth several degrees higher than the capital rolled over him.

Li Dong took off his coat and draped it neatly over his arm.

The refined, handsome picture he made drew plenty of looks at once.

From the city center to his destination took a little longer. At last he reached an old, quiet neighborhood where foot traffic suddenly thinned.

Looking at the not-so-wide lanes lined with potted plants on both sides, Li Dong felt a headache coming on.

He didn’t have a precise address. He only had a hazy impression that a place like this existed.

Delivery guys didn’t share that problem.

One uniformed courier stopped at the mouth of the lane and made a call. “Hello? Is this Mr. Lu? Are you on Third Lane of Little Street or… got it, on my way now.”

The kid was new and had just been chewed out so hard his face went green and red by turns.

He pedaled in. Li Dong followed.

For the newly retired killer, the most annoying thing lately was how often the delivery guys changed.

That wasn’t the main point. The point was that every new rookie couldn’t find his address.

So annoying.

Even if it was a small thing.

Compared to past trouble, it was nothing. But still annoying.

Lu Jun didn’t dare face the real source of his foul mood. He’d sunk to snarling at couriers to vent.

Very good. The doorbell rang.

Lu Jun yanked the door open with a bang and snapped, “Are you stupid? It clearly says Third Lane. Just come to Third Lane. Why are you asking if I’m on Little Street? Got sh*t for brains?!”

“S-sorry…” The delivery kid practically wanted to kiss the ground and flee. “Your order.”

“You—” Lu Jun had a whole stomach full of words, but suddenly the rest died in his throat.

Meeting a startled gaze, Li Dong lifted his hand and waved with a smile. “Hi…”

Bang. Lu Jun slammed the door.

“…” Li Dong’s hand froze midair and his smile turned very awkward.

“Mr. Lu?” The courier looked down at the food in his hands and nearly cried. What even was this situation?

“I’ll take that,” Li Dong said. He took the bag from the kid and pressed the bell himself. “Xiao Jun?”

Just from that intimate address, you could tell they were close.

The courier finally relaxed and hurried off.

Inside, Lu Jun stood there, rattled. Why was he here, why was he here, here…

“Xiao Jun, open up.” With luggage in one hand and the takeout in the other, Li Dong wasn’t free, so he tapped the door with his foot. “Aren’t you hungry? Let me in.”

“…” Lu Jun’s thoughts went crooked in an instant and his face flushed.

F**k. Ever since he met this man, his whole self had been falling apart.

“Xiao Jun?” Li Dong called again. He couldn’t believe that after finally finding this place, the other party wouldn’t open the door. He glanced at the takeout in his hand and frowned. “If you don’t open up, I’m eating your food.”

He’d just gotten off the bus. He was starving.

Lu Jun came and opened the door. He saw the high-born man sitting on his front step, sleeves rolled up, already eating.

“Hey.” He nudged him in the waist with his foot.

What was he here for?

“Took you long enough.” Li Dong looked back, then stood and shamelessly ordered, “Help me with my luggage.”

“What’re you doing here?” Lu Jun leaned in the doorway without moving.

“Looking for you.” Li Dong stepped forward.

Lu Jun swung a foot in front of him, blocking his way. “That’s my house. Not some place cats and dogs can just stroll into.”

The colder and prouder he acted, the worse Li Dong felt.

“Really not letting me in?” Li Dong met his eyes calmly.

The young man’s breath hitched under that look. He ground his teeth and lowered his leg. “If you come in, I’m not letting you out.”

“…” Still the same blunt, domineering style.

Li Dong carried the food inside. Lu Jun brought in the luggage behind him, then shut the door with a hard slam and turned the lock.

“Where’re your bowls?” Li Dong asked. He wasn’t scared at all. He walked straight through the retired killer’s home into the kitchen and found a set of chopsticks and bowls.

Under his cool stare, Li Dong split the order into two.

“Come eat,” Li Dong said.

He was so at ease that even a ten-something-yuan takeout looked like fine dining when he ate it.

A man like that shouldn’t be sitting here.

But somehow, it was even more intoxicating. It made evil thoughts bloom.

If only he could keep him caged forever…

Lu Jun’s greedy, wicked gaze slid over Li Dong. He sat down as if nothing was out of the ordinary, picked up the portion prepared for him, and ate like a man starved.

“…” Li Dong swallowed. He had the illusion that he himself was the food in Lu Jun’s mouth.

As for the consequences of delivering himself to the door, he had no idea.

“You had someone dig up my info?”

“No. I went to a lot of places.”

When they finished, Lu Jun snorted as he cleaned up, then dumped the trash in the bin outside.

When he came back, Li Dong was using his tea set to boil water and steep tea.

Tsk tsk. What a gorgeous picture.

His prey, sitting on his turf. The feeling of owning him was like a hit of something addictive, rushing from his toes to his scalp. Couldn’t be more delightful.

“What’d you come for?” Lu Jun finally had his fill of looking and flopped down across from him.

“To drink tea.” Li Dong handed over the fresh cup.

As for Lu Jun’s situation, he took a few sips, then said, “Li Tingyi’s dead. Did you know?”

Lu Jun downed his cup in one go. “Who’s Li Tingyi?” He curled his lip. “Don’t know him.”

Li Dong paused. “Why did you retire?” Was it because he turned on his client and killed him? But there’d been no middleman between him and Li Tingyi. No one knew it was Lu Jun who did it.

Retiring just because he broke the rules once didn’t feel like Lu Jun’s style.

“None of your business.” Lu Jun arched a brow and chuckled. “Who are you to be interrogating me?”

Li Dong was speechless. “I’m not interrogating you. I’m concerned.”

Too sharp, this one.

“And who are you to be concerned about me?” Lu Jun asked again. He leaned in, smiling crookedly. “Hm?” He even flicked his tongue along Li Dong’s cheek.

“Someone who’s slept with you…” Li Dong looked uncomfortable and edged back. “Don’t do that.” He hadn’t come only to sleep with him.

But that burning, hungry look in the other man’s eyes sent tingles up his scalp and heat through his chest for no reason.

“So you still want to?” In less than a second, Lu Jun was in front of him.

He slammed a hand to the wall, caging the man whose refined looks made him drool. He was completely irrational. “How about this. I won’t ask how you found me.” For a former killer in danger, tossing aside his own safety like this took a serious case of brain rot.

“I won’t hurt you,” Li Dong said. “You don’t have to worry I’ll sell you out or betray you…”

“Really?” Lu Jun pinched his chin. “You said it. If you sell me out, I won’t let you go even as a ghost.” He was about to burst. The silly straight man’s words sounded exactly like a confession. Bliss to the max.

Hurry up and kiss him…

“Mm…” Li Dong nodded.

His goal was to free his chin from that grip, a small resistant motion that unknowingly dinged the shou’s diamond-hard heart.

If the mountain wouldn’t come to him, then he’d go to the mountain.

He’d already given the man a chance to get away, and the guy still came knocking.

“Haa…” Could he admit he felt so good he was melting?

The straight man still didn’t seem to get it, but if he stripped down and presented himself, the guy would still climb on… that was enough.

A long-missed kiss crashed down, stamped with Lu the Little Hellhound’s brand of wild arrogance.

So direct…

Li Dong had come ready to talk things out. Yet once they met, he found his own control slipping.

His eyes went dark. He decided to let his reason out for a walk and go crazy with him first.

“Tsk…” Lu Jun was thrilled. He loved the straight man’s initiative, gentle and powerful.

When those arms wrapped around him, his heart burst like fireworks, his whole body trembling. The world exploded into a thousand blossoms of light.

For the first time, he thought, being alive was dazzling. How great.

As for later, who cared? Don’t think about it.
