Chapter: 50 Gu Xiujue
To put it simply, the male lead grew up in an environment that made him lonely and cold. Later, the war taught him restraint and self-control. Together, those shaped today’s personality, quiet on the surface and secretly smoldering.
He had very little sense of security. In his mind there was one iron rule: only strength could keep him safe.
And time had proved him right. If you were not strong, you would be rejected and abandoned. Those were the small wounds.
If he fell for someone, weakness meant he would not even have the right to pursue love. All he would deserve was to live alone in an empty house.
“I am sorry I left you alone just now,” Gu Xiujue said, feigning calm as he walked over to Li Dong. He suddenly froze, because his black panther was rolling all over the floor with the white cat in its arms. The scene looked very intimate.
Was that really his cool, aloof panther?
Then Gu Xiujue remembered. Huo Leishao’s quantum beast was a lion. Whenever his panther and that lion crossed paths, they always fought. No exceptions.
Yet this shameless silly panther was lying on its back to show its belly to the white cat and even twitching its ears for attention.
“Uh…” Li Dong was embarrassed as well, because he had just witnessed a certain simulated motion that would generate heat.
The composure Gu Xiujue had clawed back in the bathroom collapsed in a second. He turned his head away to hide the color in his cheeks.
From the Omega’s words, he had gathered that the other man valued chastity, disliked premarital intimacy, perhaps even found it distasteful.
So after losing control again and again, had he already left a frivolous impression?
“About the question you asked me on the way,” Gu Xiujue said, “I have never had intimate relations with anyone.” He drew his sleep robe close in front of Li Dong. The gesture made him look very much like a nervous first-timer.
“Alright,” Li Dong said, thinking. Had the male lead misunderstood?
In this world overflowing with hormones and pheromones, it was normal for people in their twenties to have had sexual experience.
The only line he could not accept was promiscuity. Unfortunately, the original book kept stressing that Betas had chaotic private lives, even soldiers in the army.
If the male lead was still a virgin, all the better.
“I will tidy up a guest room. You can take a nap,” Gu Xiujue said. He still remembered Li Dong mentioning he was sleepy on the way over, so he turned toward the guest room.
With his movement, a rich scent spread through the air. It really proved that saying true: he was radiating heat.
Li Dong kind of wanted to die. Right now he was in a special physical state during a special period. Being mixed up with the male lead always brought hallucinations of XXX within three seconds.
He boldly speculated that the other person might be even more agitated than himself.
On the surface the man looked calm, but one glance at the silly panther on the floor, those syrupy eyes, and it was obvious that under the still water there were storming waves.
Bottling it up was not going to help.
Li Dong followed him into the guest room and saw Gu Xiujue bent at the waist, a tall major general tucking in sheets for him.
Honestly, it was a striking sight.
Female authors always wrote their male leads as dazzlingly handsome and irresistibly charming, able to conquer entire galaxies with just their faces.
Gu Xiujue’s looks were top tier among the top tier, and paired with a physique few could hope to master, his whole body radiated a proud aura you could admire from afar but should not take liberties with.
But was he truly that lofty and calm?
Li Dong did not buy it. He moved behind the male lead. His shorter height was a hard limit. He could not hoist the man onto the bed or his arms would snap, he could not pin him against the wall because he was not tall enough, and he certainly could not push him over without the other’s cooperation.
That did not mean he could do nothing. There was still plenty he could do.
“Chu…” Gu Xiujue’s hands halted mid-tuck. Both palms shifted to brace against the mattress. The Omega’s move behind him had routed his defenses. All he could do was let himself be handled.
Li Dong was also stunned.
He had only guessed that the male lead might be a little worked up, but he had not expected a roaring sea instead of a trickling stream.
Men were creatures of the senses. Li Dong was very much a man.
He had been through a lot. He was no green, shy boy. When there was desire, he went with it. Seeing the male lead overflowing, he only gave a kindly smile. This was very normal.
“Don’t be like this,” Gu Xiujue said. He forced himself to finish making the bed, then turned to face the Omega who had teased him. “There. If you need anything, tell me.”
“Thank you. I meant no offense,” Li Dong said, leaning closer and looking him straight in the eye. “But we are engaged. A kiss is not too much, right?” He shut his eyes and brushed his lips against the man’s.
“!!!”
A shiver ran through Gu Xiujue. His big-cat eyes narrowed on the spot, like a feline on catnip, wanting to lean in for more kisses and more petting.
“I am going to sleep,” Li Dong said, tossing aside the male lead he had just scrambled, lifting the blanket, and climbing into bed to sleep.
But that faint, lingering Beta scent in the room made it impossible to sleep well.
At this point, Li Dong was a little irritated with this stuffy man. A man in his late twenties, if you want it then say you want it. What was so hard to admit?
He could not sleep. He opened his eyes and said to Gu Xiujue, “Either go out, or get in and sleep with me.”
Gu Xiujue stood uncomfortably in place, considering for three seconds. “I do not want to disturb you. I will head out,” he said.
Then he discovered that taking a step right now was unexpectedly difficult.
He did not know if all Betas experienced this, but that part of him that usually had no reaction suddenly fired off a strong signal someday, clamoring for comfort.
So the man who said he would leave could not get himself through the door.
“Stay with me,” Li Dong said. “Sleeping alone is lonely.” He lifted the blanket again, patted the space beside him, and said, “Come here.”
“Chu…” At those words, Gu Xiujue’s lashes trembled. He wanted to bolt from this room that would eat a man alive.
“Come on,” Li Dong said again.
“No. You do not belong to me yet,” Gu Xiujue said, face drawn with struggle. A moment later, he shook his head firmly. “Rest well, Chu.”
From that, it was not hard to see how a man reached his late twenties still a virgin.
“Wait, do not go,” Li Dong said, throwing an arm out. He was amused. What was this, a kindergarten where everyone went to their own little beds?
No. This was the real world.
He caught Gu Xiujue by the wrist and tugged him closer. “We will not do anything else. I will just comfort you.” Like that day, he had long wanted to even the score and let the major general have a taste.
Half resisting and half yielding, Gu Xiujue tried and failed to walk away for a long while, then finally sat on the bed.
Li Dong could read him at a glance. Classic case of a mouth that said no and a body that said yes. He had hardly needed any strength at all. The weak, helpless Omega had herded the powerful Major General Gu onto the bed.
Honestly, Li Dong was a century-old veteran in this area. He had played this game through and through.
No pretty piece of fresh meat could make him lose control anymore. Everything was ordinary.
Only a first-timer like the male lead would feel like he was about to capsize at the slightest ripple.
It was not really Gu Xiujue’s fault. He had just met someone so experienced that the tiniest tease could be too much.
“Xiujue, you dirty rascal,” Li Dong murmured. “You said in the car you wanted me to smell your scent.” He inhaled. It really was strong.
Damn it, such a strong man having such a vulnerable weakness. This was simply a devilish setting, leading people to fall into the abyss.
For natives of the ABO world, however, these things were commonplace, no big deal at all.
No one was shocked by a Beta’s body, and no one thought a battle-hardened major general could not be, ahem, serviced.
Li Dong worked through all of it, one by one.
Tsk tsk tsk.
The next thirty thousand words were omitted. Big brother took little sister on a day trip to Mount Wu.
It took a while. Night fell and the city lights came on.
In a room strewn in disarray and thick with a certain scent, Gu Xiujue slowly opened his eyes. He first checked the person beside him and saw the Omega who had been intimate with him sleeping soundly.
He did not dare wake Li Dong. He carefully slipped out of bed to put on clothes.
However, today had been too exciting. His hands were clumsy. Just a few small pieces of clothing actually took a full twenty minutes to put on.
Realizing how long he had dawdled, he cursed himself under his breath. Lovestruck fool.
Because Li Dong had set an alarm before sleeping, the ringing woke him. He opened his eyes to darkness outside and hurried to dress. “Xiujue, take me home,” he said.
Gu Xiujue glanced around the empty house. “I was making dinner,” he said softly.
That brought to mind the “ancient Earth” meal Li Dong had cooked last time he was here. It had been delicious. He wondered if he might be lucky enough to taste it again.
“…” Li Dong stared. This man could take subtlety to the extreme. “So you want me to stay and eat before I go?”
It made sense. If he left, the big house would be just Gu Xiujue alone again.
Li Dong gradually noticed a common thread with these book male-lead-shous. They feared loneliness.
“Yes. Besides, if you go back now, you will miss dinner anyway,” Gu Xiujue said, sneaking a glance at Li Dong. “I am a decent cook.” He paused. “I can even make dishes like the ones at Mayinghua Restaurant.”
What…
Li Dong almost spat blood. So he had shown off in front of an interstellar-level chef?
Thinking back made his face sting. Seducing the male lead had clearly been because the man was between relationships, not because of any culinary lure.
