DLOBML CHAPTER 61

Chapter 61 — The Stallion ML Meltdown (13) | Was “Dual-Cultivation Sect” Your Major in College?!

Xing Ge swallowed until her throat felt raw.

The cell reeked of damp. A metallic tang clung to the tip of her nose. She reached into the lotus pool’s hidden depths; that cluster of crystal-white, flesh-tinted lotus petals was absurdly sensitive. The slightest touch turned it into a stone-carved blossom. Yu Ge threw his head back and cried out twice in a sharp, breathless pitch, then collapsed against the hollow of her neck as if on the verge of death.

Rain from the bodhi tree. Nectar pouring down. His back was a bowstring just loosed, still trembling with leftover shivers.

The jailers’ hearts itched.

Today’s screams sounded different from before. Strangely… compelling.

They edged closer to the water cell and saw garments and black hair floating on the surface, ripples blooming with heat at the prisoner’s waist. The famed Blood Prince of the Ten Continents and Three Islands no longer had the awe that once made livers and gallbladders quake. He lay spent on the delivery boy’s shoulder, eyes half open and hazy with tears, as if he had been played with until his soul had scattered.

“...F*ck!”

Evil fire chaotically fell in their lower abdomens.  They could not help shouting at Xing Ge, “Hey, meal runner, you done yet? Get out, it’s the next shift’s turn!”

If they had known the Blood Prince could be so docile, how could such a plain, unremarkable food runner have gotten this bargain first?

Yu Ge’s lashes trembled, a tear bead breaking into fragments. He whispered to Xing Ge, “...Go. Do not come back.”

Do not save me. You and I were never meant to walk the same road.

The locks at his hips loosened a little.

Yu Ge felt abruptly empty.

The next instant, someone bit his lips hard. “Go back and I will deal with you later!”

Xing Ge flipped the switch on her try-hard mode. Blood leaked from seven orifices as she burned every ounce of energy she had, leaping from late Core Formation straight to late Nascent Soul. She was already an ascender who had glimpsed the great Dao. Pushing her body past the limit, she rammed through Heavenly Net’s headquarters like a spear through soft mud. Even the sect master of Heavenly Net ended up half ruined. He stared in shock. “You, you are not—”

Xing Ge answered coldly by blowing his head apart.

Villains die from talking too much. Reflect on that in the next life.

“Let us go… home…”

The clots of red still clouded Xing Ge’s eyes as she clamped her fingers around Yu Ge’s hand.

Hurry up and come back to work for me!

I am such a wise sovereign. I cannot allow the royal chrysanthemum to suffer harm!

With his great hatred at last avenged, Yu Ge stood frozen, unable to return to himself.

His father had been the former master of Heavenly Net, murdered in retreat by the deputy master. Pretending Yu Ge knew nothing, the deputy took him in as a foster son and, to keep him away from the center of power, shipped him off to Yan in Flame Continent. Yu Ge bore a sea of blood grudges. He never forgot. With the help of Han Qian, the so-called “child of destiny” foretold by prophecy, he smoothly climbed into the dragon bed.

He had long known that this dragon bed was different from the last. He thought, that was even better.

He owed Yan Hongwen a debt of gratitude and could not make a move. As for this wild soul of unknown origin, he would be just the blade Yu Ge needed.

Things unfolded as planned. He pretended to report himself, lured Yan Hongwen to the dark prison, and never expected the man to charge in alone.

He even bathed Heavenly Net in blood for the insult they had tried to inflict.

Yu Ge’s throat burned, a faint sweetness rising with the blood. His knuckles went white. He did not dare lift his eyes to meet that gaze. “...It was a lie.”

He heard himself slice open that lightless filth. “Yan Hongwen, all of it was a lie. I became a spy in Yan for revenge. I climbed into your bed on purpose, to push Heavenly Net into the enemy camp.” He was despicable. To reach his goal, he had wagered even his chastity.

Yu Ge’s lashes shook. A tremor crept into his voice. “Including today. That was on purpose too. They did not violate me. I merely used illusion to cloud their senses.”

He did not have a taste for being taken by men. Everything was for the sake of provoking him.

If Yan Hongwen had not been powerful, the two of them would have died together with Heavenly Net’s sect master by now.

“I know,” Xing Ge said, staring at him strangely.

“You know?!”

Yu Ge’s voice cracked. “Since when—”

“In the cell,” Xing Ge replied righteously. “You were just as tight when I left as when I came in, so I knew you were lying.”

Yu Ge: “???!”

What kind of ridiculous evidence was that!

“Consider this revenge for your father-in-law.”

Xing Ge was very open about it. If you want a man to work for you his whole life, you have to give him a taste of sweetness.

“This time I will let it slide. From now on, you are my person. You are not allowed to lie to me again.”

She wiped the blood from her face, lifted her pinky. “Hook fingers.”

He stayed silent.

Xing Ge thought, Brother, really? I risked life and limb for you. You still will not let me touch your heart?

A heart of iron and stone indeed.

She felt awkward and started to drop her empty pinky, planning to pretend nothing had happened, when someone lifted her face.

In the instant before the sun fell into the abyss, a blood tassel whipped in the wind at the end of the spear. Yu Ge held a bead of heart-blood between his lips and passed it all to the nation’s ruler.

Boom.

Xing Ge went blazing hot, especially in her spiritual palace, so hot she yelped.

D*** it! He really was a heart of stone! He wanted to poison her, take over her million-mile empire! Even crueler than a stallion protagonist!

Xing Ge glared at him like a ghost unwilling to die.

Kid, just you wait. I will switch to an alt account and end you. Wait, I am not even dead yet and you are about to loot my corpse?!

“Your Majesty, pinky promises are for children.” Yu Ge’s eyes shimmered with light. He pulled out his hair tie. His black hair spilled like satin into an ink-dark bed. “Why not form a bond instead? From body to heart, from spirit to soul, your subject will be Your Majesty’s exclusive possession.”

He smiled. “Since today is an auspicious day, let us settle the title. Your and my bodies will blend like water and milk, and our souls will join as one.”

“?!”

Are you describing a new kind of “ascend to bliss”?

Xing Ge shook her head like mad and crawled a few feet, only to be dragged back again.

“Oh, right. I forgot to tell Your Majesty.”

In the deepening dusk, the tear mole at his eye grew even more seductive, like a drop of crimson flicked from a peach-blossom sword, enough to leave corpses strewn across the field.

“Heavenly Net’s predecessor was a dual-cultivation sect.”

“What I am best at is the joyous meditation that begins with offering the body. Shall I give Your Majesty a small demonstration?”

Excuse me? A male fox spirit is deadly enough, and now you are telling me your college major was the Dual-Cultivation Sect?!

Xing Ge clawed the ground in despair, gouging two small trenches.

Help, help, I do not want to be drained into a mummy!

After returning from the mission, Xing Ge supported her aching waist, ready to file a complaint for overuse and both mental and physical trauma, demanding compensation for cannon-fodder damage fees. Then she looked over and saw Ji Dan squatting in a corner, holding a small funeral for a few strands of hair it had shed.

“...”

This was not her fault, right?

Guilty, Xing Ge looked away.

Roll, roll.

Ji Dan rolled past her with serenity and composure.

So what if the male lead turned gay.

So what if the supporting male ate the little gray chick’s eggs and had a baby for her.

So what if…

Just small waves on a big sea.

I, the honorable Lord Ji Dan, can handle it.

Egg Lord rolled farther and farther away, a phrase drifting back on the wind. “Do it too much and karma will come for you, hee hee…”

Xing Ge: “?”

So hair really is the seat of reason?

After ninety-nine cannon-fodder missions, Xing Ge finally paid off the enormous debt she owed to the neurotic homeowner god. She patted her butt clean and cheerfully quit the Cannon-Fodder Department boss.

A little coworker was green with envy and made plans to meet after work for Cloud-Glow Hotpot to celebrate her new life after resignation.

On the way to Cloud-Glow Hot Palace...

“Hello, have you seen my heartless, faithless husband who deserves to be torn apart by horses and sliced into a thousand pieces?”

“Hello, excuse me, do you know…”

Not far away, a cool male voice drifted in and out.

Xing Ge did not think much of it. She asked casually, “Why is someone looking for people in a place like this?”

“Poor thing.” The little coworker’s face brimmed with sympathy. “Seems he is from a parallel world. He has been searching a while. I heard his husband is a quick-transmigrator who runs off as soon as he pulls up his pants. After he turned dark, he fell and became an evil god, broke through the limits of the world… Ah, shoot, it noticed us. Do not look into its eyes too long, or its malice will cling to you!”

The girl dragged Xing Ge away in a hurry.

However.

A blood-red shadow slid soundlessly over Xing Ge’s ankles, and calamity followed.

“Hello. Have you seen my spouse?”

Short black hair. Dark red lips. Two white, soft rabbit ears perked up.

The evil god had a strikingly elegant face. The charred collar gaped, exposing a neck pale to the bone. Perhaps from forcing a breach through the world’s wall, the body was badly worn, wrapped in bandages round and round. Blood still seeped through, corroding the bare toes and turning the ground beneath into a fresh black-red pit.

The rabbit ears drooped, voice suppressed by tears.

“He has been gone a long time. Could you please tell him—”

Xing Ge knew this one.

“I know.”

She answered at once.

“I miss him too! I miss him so, so, so much!”

The rabbit ears sprang upright like airplane wings. “Really???!!!”

“Really!”

So please, do not fall further. You are getting too dark. Very hard to deal with!

Xing Ge sighed to herself. Yet another day saving the world at the cost of her own dignity.

The rabbit ears heard her thoughts and joyfully kissed her, tongue and all.

“Husband, husband, husband, you are the greatest. Let us not waste time. Let us make a whole litter of bunny babies!”

Xing Ge: “There are people watching, keep your pants on, I #%“”¥¥%?%!!!”
