Extra · When Jun Yan Meets Feng Qi (3)
Tranquil Heart Cave, Reflection Pool.
The sound of dripping water echoed endlessly in his ears. Jun Yan sat beside the pool with one knee drawn up. Behind him, Feng Qi approached carrying a wave of scorching heat.
Jun Yan shifted to the side and looked back at him with an indescribable expression. “...Is it really that cold?”
“Of course it is.” Feng Qi answered as though it were only natural.
Several layers of phoenix flames wound densely around his body. The firelight illuminated the cave as brightly as day, and almost instantly warmed the stone beneath Jun Yan.
“...” Jun Yan looked away and muttered under his breath, “So delicate.”
Only after confirming that the stone had been thoroughly warmed did Feng Qi sit down. He turned his head. “What did you just say?”
“...Nothing.” Jun Yan frowned. “Move farther away from me. You’re too hot!”
Feng Qi drew the flames closer around himself and said unhappily, “And whose fault is that? If I’d known Uncle would punish us by sending us here, I never would’ve agreed to fight you. This place is damp and freezing. How are we supposed to sleep tonight?”
It was rare to see him acting like this, and Jun Yan’s mood improved considerably. “Why wouldn’t we be able to sleep? Not everyone is as delicate as you.”
“You little dragon...” Feng Qi’s words suddenly stopped as he remembered something. He laughed. “Right. Shouldn’t our wager take effect now?”
“...” Jun Yan fell silent.
Feng Qi did not rush him. He simply propped up his chin and watched quietly.
Jun Yan steeled himself. “This Prince is willing to accept the consequences of losing a wager. What do you want me to do?”
Feng Qi said, “Starting tomorrow, you’ll come and go with me and attend to all my daily needs. You can’t return to the disciples’ peaks, so you’ll stay temporarily in Cloud-Ascending Tower for the next few days. Any objections?”
“Fine.”
Feng Qi’s gaze swept over Jun Yan, a playful smile curling at the corner of his lips. “And you have to obey every command I give you. No defying me.”
“No problem.”
The amusement in Feng Qi’s eyes deepened. He leaned a little closer. “Then... can I see your dragon horns?”
Jun Yan froze.
What sort of request was that???
His expression turned hesitant, but remembering that he had just declared himself willing to accept defeat, he eventually answered with an extremely reluctant, “Fine.”
He was just about to return to his original form when Feng Qi caught him by the wrist.
Feng Qi instructed unhurriedly, “Don’t transform completely. Bring them out like this.”
“...”
Jun Yan frowned. Feng Qi, however, looked perfectly composed, as though there were nothing strange about his request at all. Suppressing the urge to punch him, Jun Yan took a deep breath.
A pair of dragon horns slowly emerged from his smooth forehead.
Feng Qi’s brows twitched.
Because Jun Yan was still in human form, the horns were larger than the ones he had seen that day. The fine down covering them was much more obvious as well. At that moment, every strand stood tensely upright, perfectly betraying their owner’s unease.
Jun Yan rarely appeared before outsiders like this. His control slipped slightly, and his dark eyes involuntarily reverted to pale vertical pupils.
Feng Qi swallowed. His heartbeat suddenly quickened.
“Raise your head,” he said softly.
Jun Yan seemed extremely nervous. His shoulders trembled slightly before he slowly raised his head.
Those clear, pristine eyes met Feng Qi’s gaze. The instant their eyes locked, the atmosphere inside the cave abruptly changed.
The sound of running water continued without pause, yet somehow it only made the cave seem even quieter, quiet enough that their quickened heartbeats seemed almost audible.
Feng Qi raised a hand.
Jun Yan instinctively shrank back.
“Don’t move,” Feng Qi ordered.
Jun Yan immediately stopped moving.
He watched Feng Qi reach toward him, closer and closer, until his hand nearly touched the trembling dragon horns on his forehead, but he did not actually touch them.
Feng Qi’s hand stopped barely an inch away. Jun Yan’s sensitive horns could even feel the scorching warmth radiating from his palm.
“You’re this nervous?” Feng Qi watched him and asked, “You don’t want me touching them?”
Even Jun Yan’s voice had begun to tremble. “I said I’d accept my loss. Do... do whatever you want!”
Feng Qi smiled mischievously. “Then I’m touching them?”
Jun Yan squeezed his eyes shut. His dragon horns immediately trembled even harder.
Feng Qi stared at him for a long moment.
Then the scorching presence surrounding Jun Yan abruptly disappeared.
Jun Yan opened his eyes. Feng Qi had already sat back where he had been before.
“Y-You... why didn’t you...”
Feng Qi did not turn around. His voice sounded remarkably steady. “I was only teasing you. I wasn’t really going to touch them. Do I look like that kind of person?”
“...”
Jun Yan said nothing, but Feng Qi could clearly read the answer from his indescribable expression.
Aren’t you exactly that kind of person?
Feng Qi did not bother arguing with him. Jun Yan, however, still seemed wary. “Then... what else do you want me to do?”
“Nothing else. I’ll let you off for today.” Feng Qi stood and walked deeper into the cave. “It’s already late. Go to sleep. We can leave first thing tomorrow morning.”
The moment he finished speaking, a splash sounded behind him.
Feng Qi turned around.
The young man beside the pool had already disappeared. Ripples spread across the unfathomably deep water, and all he could see was a silver dragon tail flicking swiftly across the surface before vanishing beneath it.
“...” Feng Qi fell silent for a moment, then laughed helplessly. “Are you really that afraid of me?”
He found a place against the cave wall and lay down, though his gaze still wandered toward the dark pool in the distance.
That beautiful little silver dragon had completely submerged himself. The surface of the pool gradually became still again.
The faint restlessness in Feng Qi’s heart also slowly settled.
He let out a silent breath.

The next day, Jun Yan truly went to Cloud-Ascending Tower according to their agreement.
Unexpectedly, Feng Qi did not torment him much.
For the entire day, aside from the hours spent attending lessons and cultivating, Jun Yan remained in Cloud-Ascending Tower reading beside Feng Qi, pouring tea, grinding ink, and tending the incense.
It was so easy that he almost found it suspicious.
Night had already fallen. Jun Yan rubbed between his brows and turned toward Feng Qi, who sat beside him.
The latter held a book beneath the lamplight, reading quietly. The warm glow softened his features and made him appear gentler than usual.
Under lamplight, even a beauty gains another three parts of charm. Even Jun Yan, who had seen countless handsome faces, found himself staring for a moment.
Putting everything else aside, this man’s appearance truly was exceptional.
Perhaps even... more attractive than most people he had ever seen.
Feng Qi lifted a hand and turned a page. His sleeve slipped slightly with the movement, revealing a beautifully shaped wrist.
Jun Yan’s gaze lowered to that pale wrist.
“Pretty?”
At the sound of his voice, Jun Yan jolted as though struck by lightning. He looked up and met Feng Qi’s teasing smile.
Jun Yan’s ears warmed. He awkwardly looked away. “I... I wasn’t looking.”
“You can’t even lie properly. Are all dragons as foolish as you?” Feng Qi closed the book and stretched lazily. “We’ll stop here for tonight. I’ll take you to where you’re staying.”
Jun Yan blinked and pointed toward the inner room of the warm chamber. “I’m not sleeping here?”
There was a small couch inside the warm chamber. Though it was far less comfortable than the disciples’ peaks, Jun Yan had lost their wager and was in no position to complain.
Feng Qi said, “Of course not. You’re my attendant now. You have to stay with me. Come along.”
Feng Qi took him to the top floor of Cloud-Ascending Tower.
The entire top floor was Feng Qi’s private residence. No other disciple was allowed inside without permission.
Feng Qi led Jun Yan into the inner room and began undoing his sash.
When Jun Yan remained frozen where he stood, Feng Qi turned around. “What are you standing there for? Take off your clothes and sleep.”
Jun Yan did not dare look at him. Even the side of his face began to burn. “There’s only one bed here. How are we supposed to sleep?!”
Feng Qi studied him with great interest. He casually tossed aside his outer robe and walked toward him. “How else would we sleep? Naturally... together.”
“...”
Jun Yan instinctively tried to flee.
Feng Qi grabbed him and yanked him back, making his spine hit the room divider behind him.
Feng Qi looked down at him, amusement gleaming in his eyes. “What? Is Your Highness shy? We’re both men. What’s there to be embarrassed about? Or could it be that Your Highness actually...”
“Shut up!” Jun Yan finally snapped.
After spending several days together, Feng Qi had already figured out this little dragon’s temperament.
The Crown Prince of the Dragon Clan was by no means weak, but his temper was fierce. Whenever he became angry, his face flushed, his eyes turned even more watery, and the corners became tinged red, as though someone had thoroughly bullied him.
Feng Qi stared into those rabbit-like eyes.
The strange restlessness in his heart surged up once more.
The air seemed to thin.
Unable to bear the feeling, Feng Qi stepped back and released him.
Jun Yan refused to look at him and strode forward. “Fine, we’ll sleep together then! I move around a lot in my sleep, so don’t blame me if I kick you off the bed!”
Feng Qi caught him by the back of his collar and dragged him back.
“I was teasing you. I don’t want to share a bed with you either.” Feng Qi led him into the outer room and dropped him onto the daybed. “Once unfolded, this is large enough for you to sleep on. You’ll stay here for the next few days.”
After saying that, he ignored Jun Yan’s reaction and disappeared behind the divider into the inner room.
The faint rustling of clothes came from inside. A short while later, everything fell silent. Feng Qi seemed to have already lain down.
Jun Yan stood there sulking for a while.
Feng Qi called from the inner room, “Little dragon, put out the lamp.”
“Don’t call me that. I’m older than you!” Jun Yan snapped.
Feng Qi gave a soft laugh and ignored him.
Jun Yan extinguished the oil lamp on the table and lay down fully clothed on the daybed.
Only a wooden divider separated him from Feng Qi. Through the thin gauze painted with mountains and rivers, he could faintly make out the outline of the other man lying in bed.
Jun Yan stared at the silhouette on the screen.
Sleepiness gradually crept over him.
He closed his eyes and soon fell into a strange, ambiguous dream.
